Get the Deku ShieldGet the Deku Shield

You’ll need 40 Rupees to purchase the Deku Shield from the Kokiri Shop. You can find Rupees by walking through the tall grass, tossing rocks laying on the ground, and slashing bushes with your sword.
There are also several places you can find a Blue Rupee, worth 5 Rupees:
  • The house near the circle of rocks has a Blue Rupee on the ledge behind it
  • Jump across the three platforms in the water to earn a Blue Rupee
  • There is a Blue Rupee next to a Kokiri girl on the watch tower
  • Jump over the fences leading to the Kokiri Sword to earn a Blue Rupee
Once you’ve saved up 40 Rupees, head to the Kokiri Shop (The shop has a Kokiri girl sitting over the doorway). Inside, talk to the salesman at the front desk. Select the Deku Shield from the shelf using the joystick and press A to buy it.

You can equip the shield at the Equipment Subscreen. Press START, open the Equipment Subscreen, select the Deku Shield, and press A to equip.
