The first thing you’ll likely notice inside the Great Deku Tree is three Deku Babas directly ahead of you. Unlike the withered Deku Baba, these plants will lunge at you if you’re nearby. Strike them in the head when they lunge and they’ll recoil upright. Slash their exposed stem next and a Deku Stick will be left behind. If you strike the head twice instead, you’ll earn a Deku Nut.

If you take any damage fighting the Deku Babas, there are three plants nearby. Slash them for Recovery Hearts.
Take note of the large web-covered hole in this room. You’ll be coming back to it shortly.

There is ladder on one side of this floor and a wall of vines on the other. Taking the ladder will allow you to claim a Recovery Heart floating at the end of a log. Jump to collect this heart, and you should fall onto the web below, which will bounce dramatically. This is a hint - Get higher.
Unless you need the Recovery Heart, climb the wall of vines.
