The Manor
Perhaps if you'd ever been on a boat, the sailors on that boat would pale at the mention of a certain island in a calm part of the sea. The island was a barren place, with few trees and no drinkable water nearby. It was far away from land, connected only by a narrow, old stone bridge that time had worked it's wonders on. Ages past, the island was the only place in the world you could find a special metal, Asordium. It made incredibly tough weapons and armor, to such an extent that no metal has ever been found or created that can surpass it.
The remains of villages are scattered around the island, which is quite small. It stretched only about 15 miles in every direction, staring from the middle. It is simply a speck in the sea, but has endured. The middle of the island is the only place on the island where one will find a tree or grass, and it is there that the reason for the fear of this place can be seen. It was built almost a five hundred years ago, constructed by an unknown group of men for the benefit of an unknown man. It is a nice mansion, three stories from the outside. The mansion has sat upon this island every since, untouched by all but the insane few who venture to the island, looking for treasure, Asordium or perhaps just death itself. Next to the path towards the mansion rests a graveyard, and a small house in the back where a lone man lives, driven long ago to madness by his Lord. The outside of the mansion is simple a large, iron fence surrounding the walls. The gate is always open, and the road leading from the bridge to the mansion is always well kept. It was painted black when it was built, but time has worn it down to a charcoal gray. The windows are always covered from the inside by night black cloth, and the door is made of a sturdy, gray wood. Once inside, the magnificence of it's construction becomes apparent. Into the front door, you step into a gigantic hall, made of black marble and painted black brick. Infront of the door, 10 feet from it infact, is a grayed statue. It is of an angel, facing the door with arms open. Behind the statue, rests a large staircase that leads to a second floor. Pillars stretch to the roof of the entrance hall, and torches glow from them even in the daylight. To the right and left of the front door, are two more doors which lead to closets, filled with clothes and hats and other possessions of the owner. The second floor nothing more then a raised platform above the first floor, made of black marble and gray stone. The first door when you step onto the second floor leads into a large room, filled with bookshelves and tables. The room is a library, but the room does not look often used. Thick dust coats the room, and a small collection of vines is growing in the fireplace. To the right of the stairs, is the entrance to the butlers room. The butler is a old man, as they all seem to be. Black hair that is trimmed nicely, glasses and a standard 'butlers outfit'. The room itself is decently large, with it's own private bathroom. To the left of the stairs, is another room, quite empty and dusty. It looks as if the last thing living in this room was the spiders who decorated the ceiling in webbing. The second floor circles the whole room, and directly across from the first set of stairs, on the other side of the room, above the front door, is a small staircase in the wall that leads to the third floor. The third floor seems to have the most doors, and is made of the same black marble as the entrance hall. Small pillars stretch here and there in the open room, and a smaller statue of the angel downstairs is present, facing the stairs. The first door on the right wall of the room, leads into a large room with paintings on the wall. A fireplace crackles gently on the wall about 4 feet to the right of the door. A large table with about twenty chairs stretches infront of the door. At the head of the table, a large thronelike chair sits. The second door of the right wall leads into a kitchen, filled with cupboards and freezers. A row of stoves sits, as well as a microwave and several other devices. This appears to be one of few rooms with electricity, even though the island has power lines stretching to it from some unnamed source. The third, and last, door on the right wall leads into another, smaller, library. This one appears to have been used in the last billion years, as the dust is not as thick and the fireplace is actually lit. A small table stands in the center of the room, a laptop sitting atop it. On the left wall, only two doors sit. The first one leads into another bedroom, this one equally disused. It has a door leading into a closet and another into a bathroom. It looks as though this person has few guests in his house. The second door leads into a dark room. A single torch provides light for the windowless room. It is made of gray, plain stone bricks and is about the size of a prison cell. A table sits in the center, a small pile of books on it. A chair sits in the corner, and a small fold down cot is present on the wall. The last door on the floor, is a large double door that sits across from the stairs. It leads into a large room, presumeably the master bedroom. A fireplace sits on the wall across from the door, as well as two windows above it. The room is made of black marble, the only room in the house made of that instead of brick. There is a small bed in the left corner, a nightstand and a small chair. In the right, a table with a computer on it, as well as some books and a ashtray. To the right and left of the door, are two more doors that lead into a closet and a bathroom. The entire place is constantly dark, a side effect of the curtains being drawn and black. The only light comes from torches, or flickering lightbulbs. The place seems sadly empty, which suits its inhabitants fine. Ekail's eyes were closed, his head resting on his shoulder. He sat in the chair in the dining room, not asleep nor awake. His butler quietly walked in and shook him once, which caused Ekail's eyes to shoot open. Wordlessly, a plate of food was placed infront of Ekail, and with a nod the butler left the room to eat his own food in the kitchen. Ekail sighed, and toyed with his meal a bit. Another flawlessly cooked steak, with soup and bread. Ekail's favorite, of course. Sometimes he wished the old man would sit and have a meal with him, but the butler would simply say he was not hungry and go to bed without food. After a while, Ekail stopped asking. He took a sip of the water that had been brought, and sighed. He was alone in his madness, except for when he was at work. Then of course, he could unleash that madness on whomever crossed him. He wasn't used to the quiet, normal life he was being forced into. Shien had hired another group of assassins, replacing Ekail. Shien had 'promoted' Ekail to the position of right hand man and messenger boy, a position Ekail detested. With a sigh, he leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes again, falling into a peaceful nap. |
"The dark is generous.
It's first gift is concealment: our true faces lie in the dark beneath our skins, our true hearts remain shadowed deeper still. But the greatest concealment lies not in protecting our secret truths, but in hiding from us the truths of others. The dark protects us from what we dare not know. Its second gift is comforting illusion: the ease of gentle dreams in night's embrace, the beauty that imagination brings to what would repel in day's harsh light. But the greatest of its comforts is the illusion that the dark is temporary: that every night brings a new day. Because it is day that is temporary. Day is the illusion. Its third gift is the light itself: as days are defined by the nights that divide them, as stars are defined by the infinite black through which they wheel, the dark embraces the light, and brings it forth from the center of its own self. With each victory of the light, it is the dark that wins..." To the amusement of the creatures lurking on the bridge, a winged figure strode towards them, muttering a little monologue and tapping his sheathed katana on his shoulder. He walked lightly, and didn't appear to have even noticed them as he rambled on in his soft voice. One of the creatures, a goblin by the looks of things, silently emerged from it's hiding place and stealthily rushed the man, blade drawn. There was a sudden blur of movement and the man went on his way. Moments later, the goblin neatly fell in two. "The dark is generous, and it is patient... It is the dark that seeds cruelty into justice, that drips contempt into compassion, that poisons love with grains of doubt. The dark can be patient, because the slightest drop of ran will cause those seeds to sprout. The rain will come, and the seeds will sprout, for the dark is the soil in which they grow, and it is the clouds above them, and it waits behind the star that gives them light. The dark's patience is infinite. Eventually, even the stars burn out..." Seeing that the man was a more interesting plaything than they'd expected, more emerged, a nightmare vision of hideous faces, sharpened blades and chittering demon-speak rushing the lone walker as one. A wave of purple/white lightning hammered the front runners back, igniting their skin and filling the air with their inhuman wailing. The assault only ended when the wanderer ramped up the voltage and hurled their charred forms into the advancing ranks of their allies. The ones charging from the rear rapidly discovered that the only reason their prey has stopped was because he was aware of their presense. They had barely time to cry for reinforcements before he struck A half-dozen fell with the first swing of the sofly glowing blade, as it and it's master moved faster than they could follow. In the blink of an eye, the tables turned. The wanderer leapt out of the crowd surrounding him with a neat backflip and pressed his attack from the rear, shredding the subjectively frozen creatures with a manic grin. Eventually, it ended. The wanderer walked on, away from the scattered bodies, clothes and blade spotless despite the carnage he caused. "The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins. It always wins because it is everywhere. It is in the wood that burns in your hearth, and in the kettle on the fire; it is under your chair, and under your table and under the sheets on your bed. Walk in the midday sun and the dark is with you, attached to the soles of your feet. The brightest light casts the darkest shadow..." Ahead of him, the end of the bridge resolved itself out of the fog and the Messenger grinned. Whoever was here had gone to all that trouble with those creatures on the bridge, so he assumed that trespassing was likely to be bad move, generally. Oh well. He was here now... |
Ekail jolted from his nap, more from the fact his soup had tipped over onto his clothes then anything. With a disgusted sigh, he rose from the dining room and made his way to his room to change. He hated it when he fell asleep and hit the soup bowl with his feet.
Outside, Miller the Butler busied himself polishing the gates and trimming trees, keeping his master's garden as neat as one man can. With a sigh, he wiped his brow on the back of his glove, and looked towards the bridge. His eyesight sharpened by magic, he caught notice of activity on the bridge..Maybe the demons were having another cannibal ceremony. Then the lightning flashed. His eye went wide and he scrambled into the Mansion, leaving his tools laying strewn. Ekail had justed finished slipping into a t-shirt, jeans and a pair of boots when Miller came bolting into the room, panting. "S-sir! The bridge, something's moving on it. The demons appear to have been wiped out." and took a gasp. Ekail raised an eyebrow and crossed his eyes. "A visitor? Odd...No matter. Release Tinky." he said simply, and waved Miller off. The old man smirked wickedly and hurried down out the door, as Ekail stepped out of the bedroom and walked over to a window, drawing the curtain. "This might be fun." Miller calmly stepped into the library and up to the laptop sitting within. After pressing a few buttons, a loud thunk was heard along with a splash. A low growl echoed from the water, and all was silent for a moment. At the bridge, a slight disturbance in the water broke the surface, and a single spike sliced across. A large dragon-like head shot out of the water, attatched to a huge neck. Several more followed, until it was like a forest of heads surrounding the Messenger. The hydra growled, blue flame escaping it's maw, waiting. |
A low whistle softly entangled itself in the leaves of one of the few trees in the surrounding area as the behemoth raises its scaly head. "Wouldn't fancy taking that on. Good thing I'm not gonna."
The figure, awkward and lanky, scrambles down the tree branches and lands with a soft thump! on the ground. Silently, it begins to steal towards the manor, avoiding the main bridge and opting for a tree that grew closer to the side of the place than all the others. Stepping out of the shadows, the figure is revealed to be a hooded and masked theif. The graceful movements of the body betray a female. The awkward gait is because of two rather heavy-set handcuffs that make it rather hard for the girl to use her hands. Somehow, this handicap doesn't slow her much as she scales the tree and picks a window. Luck was with her, at last. Spying an open window, she scrambles along the tree until she gets close enough to make a jump at it. Muttering something about falling, she leaps. Her cuffed hands grab onto the windowsill, and she starts to pull herself up. |
Ekail's hand shot out and grabbed the theifs, and pulled her slowly inside the window. Once she was inside, he did a blink quick once over and grabbed her handcuffs. "Welcome to Judia Mansion." he said, then pressed hard with his thumb. The metal bent, then snapped like a toothpick. He repeated the act on the other, and then turned back to the window. "Miller!" he called, and very shortly the butler was there, bowing. "We have a guest. Get some bread and water." and the butler was off.
|
For the very briefest of instants, the Messenger reflected that perhaps he should have taken the much accursed Tor up on a long ago offer for the 'idiot's guide to dragon-slaying'. He rapidly dismissed the thought, based on simple logic. The thing clearly has a large number of heads, most likely containing brains. Removing them would not be conductive to the creature's further well being and therefore must be performed with all due haste.
He jumped for the first head that had risen, neatly lopping it off and leaping off of the stump towards the closest head in a single smooth movement. The process repeated itself several times before the Messenger landed amidst a rather messy rain of heads and various unpleasant substances. Needless to say, when a jet of flame slammed into him and knocked him across the bridge, he was rather surprised. Just like he was somewhat annoyed by the fact he appeared to be surrounded by twice the number of heads he was a minute before. He found the word 'Hydra' appearing in his mind, as well as the word 'Fire'. A cursory examination of the surroundings turned up a distict lack of any flaming arrows, explosives, napalm or Molotov Cocktails and killed that idea stone dead. With a devious little smile, an idea struck him. As one of the Hydra's heads shot towards him, mouth open, he jumped onto it's snout and began to run along it's neck. The creature immediately lifted the head up and tried to shake him off. As he fell, he responded by stabbing the Murasame into it's neck and using it to slow his fall. A couple of heads tried to catch him on the way down, forcing him to yank the blade out and fend them off in free-fall. He slammed into the creature's back at well over 60 miles per hour and almost rolled off before he managed to jam the blade between the creature's scales. As he dangled, he could almost hear the hydra mocking him for his feeble attempts to kill it. " You've brought nothing to this world, dragon, and I will ensure you bring nothing out. Plus, you're really pissing me off." He used the blade as a lever, firing himself back onto it's back and ran to the point where all the necks converged. Sure enough, there was a large bony structure just under the skin where he'd decided the brain was located. The hydra had been watching him with what appeared to be contempt until that poin, when it suddenly realised what was about to happen. All the heads that could reach that far back shot towards the messenger as he raised his blade for a killing blow. Unfortunately for Tinky, the blade was very sharp, the main weidling it was very good at killing things, and anger was renowned for enhancing both of those qualities. All the creature's necks suddenly went limp as it's brain was destroyed, the onrushing ones slamming into the ground and the watchers all toppling like a suicidal forest. It was all the Messenger could do to leap out the way before getting crushed. "Huh, what do you know? The harder they do fall" |
She gapes at him, completely dumbstruck. She had been sure, positive even, that there was nobody on the other side of that window. In that split second she had taken her eyes away, there was suddenly a man yanking her inside. That was fine and nearly believable. But then, this man, undoubtably the owner of said mansion, had freed the theif who was attempting to rob him blind. And to add on top of it all, he was providing her with food.
Unable to do anything else, she robotically takes and eats the food the butler offers. Finished, and senses regained somewhat, she fianlly talks. "Why the hell...?" |
Ekail smirked to himself, then let the smile drop as Tinky was defeated, and promptly slid back into the water. Ekail put his head in his hands and said "God....Mental note, get a new dragon." and then stood up straight. He turned to Miller and the theif, then gave a small bow. "I am Ekail, Lord of this island and this mansion. And if your wondering why your not dead yet..I'm in a good mood. And if you so much as took a torch off the wall, Miller here would turn you into an icecube. Isn't that right, Miller?" he said, then turned back to the window.
Miller gave a knowning smirk and nodded to Ekail, then turned to the woman. He waited for Ekail to give a mute nod, not at Miller but instead at the outside. "Ah, yes. My manner. I am Miller Viltrap, Lord Ekail's butler." and gave a deep bow. "M'lord treats all guests, welcome or not, with kindness unless they annoy him, so please behave. You are free to wander, and you can simply call me and I should come quickly." Ekail chuckled and then locked his gaze upon the man once more, then mumbled "The skeletons..He still hasn't gotten past my skeletons.." and then as an afterthought "Miller! Fetch Minaccia from my room. I have a feeling I may need it." and the Butler was once more off, returning with a small pole wrapped in red cloth, which Ekail took. |
The sounds in the distance were growing closer as Ariana made her way through the village ruins, avoiding being seen by any possible beast that might inhabit the island. She had heard stories of things lurking on this island that made children dare not sleep. This only piked her interest as to what might be hidden within the inner reaches of the island within Judia Mansion. She moved swiftly towards the bridge, hood held closely over her head as she ran at inhuman speeds. Of course one would expect this out of an agile elf such as herself, but she kept her race a secret.
She paused as she reached the end of the bridge, and slowly walked towards the corpses of the goblins, her hand instinctively reaching behind her for the twisted, silver-tinted asordium, two-piece staff that rested on her back. She held her hand there briefly as she glanced around from beneath the darkness of her hood, her emerald eyes surveying her surroundings until she stopped. She glanced down at the waters below noting the blood colored waters with an eyebrow. She knew that someone had already got one up on her. They were already here. She glanced ahead and moved quickly, leaping the corpses with ease before running to the end of the bridge and disappearing into a rift in the air with a flash of light. She had no idea where this would take her, and that is the way it usually was when she would use her portal spell in unfamiliar territory. She would either end up where she started, near where she wanted, or a lot closer than she desired. She could only pick a key point in unfamiliar land, but never an exact location. The air split once again as a blue light flickered to nothing before Ariana emerged on the other side, standing at the base of the gates. She was smart to think of a gating this time. Luckily it didn't take her to the ruined gates she found at the edge of the island. She could hear rustling behind her within the little brush that remained near the manor. She quickly ran towards a nearby tree and made her way up into it's foilage as she crouched down, wrapping her cloak about her body and peering through the darkness, waiting. She had the time to spare, she was at her destination. Now it was a waiting game. She slowly pulled a small piece of asordium from a small pouch on her hip that rested next to her sheath. She twirled the sparkling metal within her slender fingers for a moment before placing it back in the bag. She sighed to herself as she recalled a fight where something was strong enough to chip a piece of asordium from the very head piece of her staff. She shook her head, shaking the thoughts and glanced back toward the gates of the manor. |
A portal appeared in the front hall, just before the front door. A red-scarved figure exited the portal, her body shadowed in the dim lighting of the hall. Varina raised an eyebrow as she looked around. Hmm. Perhaps I should have knocked first. But no matter. She was known for her sudden entrances, after all.
She gazed about her curiously. As far as she could tell, the place almost seemed to be home to a vampire. The walls and floors were black, the black window curtains closed. My kind of place, a rough voice muttered. Varina smirked as she gazed down at the sword on her right hip. "Well, Alf, perhaps we can explore a bit," she said. But on her left hip, she felt a soft shudder from the other sword. Perhaps we shouldn't. There may already be someone living here. There are lights on around us. Varina stroked the other sword soothingly. "Now, now, Lofn. We won't stay long. Just long enough to find out where we are." But from the corner of her eye, she saw a figure standing nearby. Whirling to face it, she bit back a squeak. A statue of an angel stood ten feet from the door, cloaked in the shadows. Varina let out a breath. Did you think it was someone else? Lofn asked. Varina nodded, stepping toward the statue. Tor, perhaps? "No, not Tor," Varina said softly. "Another old friend. You haven't met him yet." No wonder she'd mistaken the angelic statue for him. The wings and open arms had made her think it was coming for her. Suddenly, a strange chill ran down her spine, and her eyes widened. She could sense someone coming toward the place. But she couldn't tell who it was. No, not Hayate...it couldn't be. Why would he come here? No, it might be Tor...although he usually tried to avoid her, rather than head right for her. Looking around, she went behind the statue, crouching down, one hand on Lofn's hilt. Whoever it was, they were coming closer to the front door. |
She frowns, distrusting. "My name is Andy Thanthala." It's said in such a manner that it should carry some significance. Obviously, she expected Ekail to know of her. "Many more know me as the Queen of Thieves."
Dropping the hood, but allowing the upper-face mask to remain, Andy's auburn hair tumbles out. Shoulder length, and covered in a visible layer of filth, it lazily curls around her shoulders. Andy's hazel eyes appear haunted, shadowed, but defiant. Numerous scars, scabs, and sores litter her otherwise fair complexion. With a small nose and full lips, she could be pretty. Rubbing ruefully at her sore wrists, she looks around. "Ya know, when I started to figure this place out, I wasn't counting on Mr. High and Mighty out there causing such a lovely distraction. And yet, you still managed to catch me red handed. How did you know I was there?" She seems rather peeved. |
Ekail tapped his finger on the windowsill slightly, then said "Quite simple. You disturbed the wind as you jumped." and he grinned "One of my lesser skills is wind control." he said, then chuckled. He tapped the pole against the wall, then said "Miller." to which the Butler promptly bowed. "I want you to get your gloves and greet our guest when he gets here. Make sure that if he does get past you, he's not too tired. I wanna have fun too, yaknow." to which the butler chuckled. Ekail heard the man begin the walk to the butler's quarters, then said "Well, Miss Andy. If you want a show, I suggest you join me at the window. Miller is known for his dramatic performances."
Miller sighed slightly, glancing into his mirror. Oh how long since he'd last had to fight. He tightened his gloves slightly, carefuly not to touch the rings on each finger. He made sure his glasses wern't going to fall off, then exited his room and shut the door with a tap. He went down the stairs calmly, both hands behind his back. He passed the statue, raising an eyebrow at the presense there. Another theif? Regardless, they felt different from the being moving towards the Mansion. Miller shook his head and said "Two hundred years of no visitors and now we're a tourist attraction." before stepping infront of the door. The doors creaked open by themselves, although a strong gust of wind was felt, flowing from the inside of the door. The doors remained open as Miller stepped out of them, then walked forward infront of the gate. He stood a few feet from it, waiting patiently. |
Ariana glanced down toward the butler as he approached the gated entrance, eying him for a brief moment before standing up on the branch. She glanced towards the mansion surveying the area quietly as she knew this place was no longer inhabitable. Ariana lifted the cloak up and turned with her back toward the man as she created a small rift in the air along the tree trunk, just enough to step through and disappear before she could be seen. She then reappeared on the inside of the gates, to the right side of the manor, near a broken statue of something that could no longer be made out. She was still able to watch the butler, but she was at a good enough distance to be able to judge what she needed without getting involved herself.
|
Andy moves over to the window and stares outside of it, only half interested. Battles weren't her thing. Too noisy and showy, for one. She was hoping that her...host would get caught up enough in it that she could slink away, get her treasures, and make good her escape. In the mean time, the theif was content in studying the glamorous surroundings.
|
The Messenger finally waded to the shore and spent a couple of minutes trying out his feathered wing, flexing it in the sunlight and just smoothing it down. When finally satisfied, he started the trek towards the middle of the island, about... 7 miles by his reckoning. It looked like there was a large building there, and he would quite like to have a talk with the owner, regarding a small army of demons and a hydra.
A few minutes later, at the halfway mark, his rambling and moderately insane train of thought was abuptly de-railed by an oddly familiar grinding noise of bone on bone. He sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose, while trying very hard to to lose it completely. "Why? for the love of all that's good and unholy, Why? What'd I ever do? It was just an interesting bridge! That's it. That's IT. Bugger thisfor a lark" To be fair, the undead were one of the things that peeved the Messenger more than most, they hit a little too close to home. Still, while skeletons were faster than zombies, they weren't as fast as him. He crouched down, wings unfolding to their full extent. He hadn't flown in quite some time, and would be the first to admit that his mis-matched wings were hardly aerodynamic but for a magical being like himself, these were hardly things to be concerned about. The air seemed to distort around his wings for an instant before he seemed to disappear with a sky shattering boom, the air filling with flying bones as the shockwave pulverised the skeletons. Ahead, the mansion grew at an alarming rate, and he barely registered the figure that was standing in the porch until there was a slight flicker to his left. He twitched a wing, hurling himself vertically upwards, monofilament wire scything through the space where he'd been an instant before. He flicked a wing out, flipping him over and down to land behind a tree a good mile or so from the mansion, on the opposite side from his approach. Were he in a better mood, or anyone else, he'd probably consider leaving at this point. However, the simple fact that whoever was in the mansion had all this outside was enough to pique his curiosity. "The dark is generous and the dark is patient... hm." A few moments later, and notably limping, he began the now significantly shorter trek back towards the mansion, sword sheathed and tapping off his shoulder once more. |
Ekail directed Andy to yet another window, still trying to grasp how anyone could move that fast, let alone dodge Miller.
Miller watched with seemingly nonchalantness as his wire missed, and smirked. "Quite a fast fellow." he said, then turned to the mansion. With a quick 'snap', he had leapt from the ground at a quick speed and landed on the roof of the three story building, humming slighlty. He stepped over the roof, seemingly sticking to it with glue as he navigated the points and slides. He stood at the back edge for a moment, his eyes fixed on the 'guest'. With a soft flap, he had jumped off the roof and ontop of the fence, his shirt now untucked by the wind. He kept his eyes locked on the man, his fingers flexing in anticipation. He quietly lifted his arms, and in a swift twist of his fingers a web of wire spread out infront of him. He pulled his fingers, twisted his wrist in a certain fashion and before you could blink, half of the ground infront of him now had small fissures in it. Miller's arms were placed back behind his back, the long, deadly wire now dangling behind him. "Come come now, good sir. The master doesn't like waiting." "Ultra-Fine Asordium metal, refined until it was extremely flexible and strong. His own natural magical powers enhance it, making him capable of shredding this mansion in two with a flick of his wrist." Ekail said, a hint of pride in his voice. Miller would have been a splendid fighting partner, and he'd have to inquire about that to the man someday. |
Seeing Ekail absorbed, Andy quietly begins to back away, in a casual, unsuspicious manner. Seeing a golden hydra figurine sitting on an end table, she nonchalantly makes her way to it and casually throws it into a leather sack across her back.
|
Narrowing her elven eyes, she focused in on Miller's hands noticing the shining wire that dangled effortlessly behind him. She glanced towards the opposite direction at the being that had moved at speeds that seemed to match, if not beat her own. She knew that there was about to be a battle here, but neither soul carried what she was after. She could feel it. She pulled the lacing of her hood tighter so that her hood would not fall back from her head as she stepped into the looming shadow that surrounded the mansion.
Slowly she made her way around towards the back, her fingertips grazing over the stone behind her, careful to avoid any blooms that were carried on the vines. She didn't need to run across any poison, she had enough along the obsidian bladed dagger she kept hidden. Before she reached the back of the mansion, she lifted her head a bit and sniffed at the air as if she had caught the scent of something, or someone. Uncertain, but not the least bit insecure about it, she turned the corner of the manor and moved slowly through the shrubs, looking for a way into the manor. She wanted to meet the mystery that was inside head on. Just the thought of the stories of the being that lived there, the darkness he held, was more than enough to provide Ariana with a level of pure bliss that could not be described by the mortal realm. Little did she know that she had already met this man before and felt his soul for herself. She was about to finally have an answer to a question that was lurking in her mind for a long time. Just who's heart summoned her to that arena that day. She could feel the same feelings rising up within her very being. Her heart began to quicken, as her eyes seemed to come alive with the fires that burned within. |
Ekail continued to keep his eyes on Miller and the guest, his focus completely on them. On some level, he registered Andy was no longer there and made a mental note to tie her to a pillar at some point and do an inventory of all his possessions. That thought faded as he watched Miller casually flick a finger, and the tree that slid into thousands of tiny logs nearby from the action. Ekail chuckled once more, wondering how this little fight would go..
How long had it been since he'd felt so many souls? Too long No, long enough Hundreds of years Now, his prison was attracting so many guests..And he assumed the warden was busy entertaining them all. He opened his eyes for the first time in years, to take in his surroundings. The entire room was the color of blood, though that made sense as it was made of it. He stepped forward, then sighed as the thousands of chains shackling him to the wall prevented him. He stepped back against the wall, and sighed once more. He'd have to wait..Have to wait a little longer. Surely someone would stumble upon his tomb, and he'd manipulate them into being his revival.. |
Minutes ease by unnoticed, only signified by the every-growing bulge of Andy's sack. Finished with the current room, the theif feels bold enough to leave Ekail's presence. The fact that he had not killed and/or arrested her already gave the young girl a reckless boldness. Whistling merrily to herself, she whisks down the hallway, systematically stopping in each room along the way.
After a little while of this, she stops to lean against a wall, ruefully placing her sack down. "Getting heavy. Should have brought a second sack. Didn't think this place would be so loaded, though." |
Varina's eyes narrowed as she listened intently to the sounds outside. She had heard a man pass close by just minutes ago; fortunately, he had left her alone to continue outside. The man hadn't been who she had sensed before, however. No, the one she had sensed had come much closer to the mansion - and in fact, moved with incredible speed.
Now she debated whether to go outside. The man who had passed her was undoubtedly still out there now. And somehow, she got the feeling that she shouldn't cross him. Not that she hadn't had her share of bad fights, but somehow this one seemed...off. She just couldn't place how. Thus, her curiosity flew off the charts. Looking around, Varina slowly rose to her feet. Gazing up once more at the angel, she passed it as she went to the front door. Very carefully, she opened it and stepped outside. |
Ariana reached up and placed a hand over her chest, taking a deep breath to steady herself. "Steady now... You would not want to let your desires get the best of you." She quietly turned and backed up a few paces to slowly let her eyes examine the height of the mansion. She had to find a way in, but how. She saw a window to upper right that seemed to have a loose lock on it, but she could not see how she could get up there without a levitation spell. She knew that she was limited to how many spells she could use without resting, so a spell like that would be rather pointless if she was forced to fight on the interior.
She sighed to herself and pulled her hood close to her face as she approached the back door, taking the handle into her grasp. She assumed it would be rather easy to gain access through the door considering all the extra security that someone had gone through the trouble of placing. She slowly pulled at the door, and then a click was heard. Success. She quietly pulled the door open and slipped inside before any light could pour into the darkness that was behind the door. She carefully let her elven eyes focus on the darkness around her, as she began to grin. No one was around. She quietly slipped into the hallway and made her way down the corridor towards a side room where she disappeared behind the door. Her boots barely made a sound as she lightly stepped over the floor. She could hear rattling coming from the room next to her so she quietly ducked down near an archway behind a marble statue, her nose beginning to twitch. She smelled blood, a sweet blood at that. She recognized the scent, and it matched a similiar scent that she smelled within the arena that day when these feelings built up inside her before. Something was off. She couldn't place it. Her heart began to beat faster as she gripped her dagger hilt tightly, she could hear someone nearby. She slowly moved around the statue and glanced to see a lanky, young girl leaning on the wall. She peered down at the bulging sack that rested on the floor at her feet, she knew it was a looter. She had no other way to go but past her, so she took a chance and stood up and quietly walked past the girl, glancing briefly at her to memorize her appearance before turning back and walking down the hall. She basically had the mentality that if the thief didn't mess with her, Ariana wouldn't mess with her. She stepped into the room that held the strongest smell of blood. She knew she was drawing closer, her heart beating fast as she stepped into the darkness, moving quietly into the shadows behind a window, glancing out at the things going on behind the manor. |
Andy watches the girl go by and shrugs. She obviously wasn't a theif, and if she was an enforcer of the law, she wouldn't have walked by Andy so casually. Thus, she was of no consequence to her. Picking up the sack with a grunt, Andy picks another room and hopes that there will be some sort of sack, bookbag, or pillow case inside.
"Oh darn. More treasures." She laughs to herself and disappears inside. |
Ekail sighed slightly, his ears twitching in the shadow. and then put his hands on the windowsill. "Why the hell is my house turning into an amusement park!?" he growled, then whirled on the spot. His arms were crossed, and his red hair was now something along the lines of the color of very thick blood. He stepped forward, towards the new (And by sounds of it, very emotional.) heartbeat and said "If you don't come out of hiding right now, I swear to the gods I will start randomly blowing out sections of my floor to find you." with a growl. He was annoyed someone else had come in unannounced, annoyed they'd dared to come near him but mostly annoyed that didn't even give the courtesy of speaking to him first.
He tapped his foot slightly, the black slippers he'd chosen not really helping the 'maniac' image at the moment, but his looks and facial features made up for it in spades. His amber eyes were most currently sweeping about the shadows, looking for his guest. "I'm waiting." |
Ariana perked her pointed ear up and turned slightly from the window to face the archway between the rooms. She smirked softly to herself as she turned and stepped across the floor, her boots making soft sounds as she made her way across. Quietly she stood in the archway, nothing visible but her slender shadowed physique beneath her dark cloak, her emerald eyes sparkling within the darkness. She looked at the man for a moment. Swallowing hard, she knew that it was him. That day within the old run down arena she met a man who looked just like him, even smelled like him. It was not the demon that summoned her that day, it was the heart of this man. His darkness is what was driving her. Her mind was pure chaos with the thoughts, yet her disposition showed nothing of the sort.
|
Ekail's features and eyes softened as he saw her. "Good." he said, uncrossing his arms. He just hated it when people tried to hide, that was all. He sighed and then lowered his head "Welcome to Judia Mansion, now a popular tourist attraction.." he said, then lifted his head suddenly. "And just what the hell are you doing here?" he asked, his voice not so much angry as inquiring. All the same, he was rather annoyed at these people barging into his house.
|
"Familiarity...", she said softly as she continued to study the man from head to toe, her gaze constantly returning to his eyes. She took another step completely from the darkness, a little light gracing some of her facial features. She slowly reached up and pulled the hood from her head, letting it fall ot her shoulders. From out of the confines of her hood, the face of this elven woman could now be seen. Her bright emerald eyes studying nothing but the man in front of her, her silver hair laid all about her shoulders and down her back, save for one white streak that went along the edge of her left cheek. She clenched her jaw slightly, and it could easily be seen in her high cheek bones as she continued to think.
|
Ekail's eyes flickered in a brief, and somewhat strained, rememberance of that face, and of course, that hair. Soda girl. "Oh yes..The girl from the arena.." he said casually, as if he were recalling an incident that had happended ages ago. He smirked slightly and kept his eyes glued on hers, waiting for her to do whatever she was going to do. He expected her to perhaps jump and attack him..He had been a bit cheeky at the arena. Or maybe she was here to chat, which wouldn't be unplesent. Miller could handle their guests for him. Or perhaps she got lost. That was possible, too. Whatever the reason, she was here, now. "Well. It seems your here for a reason, my dear. Care to enlighten, or are you going to stare all day?"
|
Ariana was taken aback by his up-front acknowledgement of her gaze upon him. She shook her head briefly as she realized she had been staring like a fool. She spoke softly, her voice not wavering in the slightest, "Something brought me here... I can't place what.". She slowly unclasped her cloak from her shoulders and pulled it down to reveal a slender, but athletic body.
She was dressed as if prepared to battle, bands around her biceps and a silver guantlet with beautiful sapphire and aquamarine jewels. The same jewels graced the black leather hip belt that rested on her lower hips, with a jagged sheath containing a dagger on her hip over a pair of leather pants, laced up each side. Further down, a pair of black suede boots that laced up the front in a criss=crossed fashion. She quietly folded the cloak and placed it within the bag on her back that covered the asordium, two-pieced staff that rested beneath now. She felt better like this. More free from the restrictions she placed on herself while wearing the cloak. She glanced back up at the man. "Ekail.. if I remember correctly?" She tried to sound just as casual as possible as to not let on to her thoughts which were quite a mess at this point. |
Ekail openly stared at her, his eye brow lifting slightly. He felt rather plainly dressed in his black t-shirt and jeans, and the slippers didn't help. He silently praised he body, then turned his eyes back towards hers. He smirked in approval, then leaned back a bit. "Ekail Judia, yes." he said, then chuckled. He stepped forward, closer to her and said "Something? Interesting. Well, if you're just sight seeing, I can show you a tour of my lovely place. Otherwise, I really need to get dressed in something less casual. I'm going to be entertaining people all day, I guess." he said with a sigh.
|
Ariana looked at him, as if almost entranced because her senses were going crazy. Her elven nature allowed her sense of smell, sight and hearing to be quite intense. The smell of blood that came from him was almost intoxicating. Still speaking softly she said, "I.. would not want to keep you from your guests. I'm sure you have more important matters than attending to me.". She was trying her best to still her heartbeat. This was greatly unusual for her. Never had she let someone unnerve her so much. Not in this manner at least. She glanced up at his eyes, studying them for what seemed like a lifetime.
She let out a brief sigh trying to figure out why she was there. There was nothing of material value that interested her there. No inn, or tavern. Nothing. Perhaps it was just this man alone that lead her here, but what will she do now that she's here? She bit at her lower lip slightly, something she always had the tendency to do when she contemplated something. However she had a tendency to do so until it bled. She stopped biting just moments before the skin broke. |
Ekail chuckled softly, then waved his hand. "My guests can burn in hell for all I care." with a dismissive air. He was much more interested in the woman infront of him. Her stares left no doubt she was interested in him, but for what purpose? Ekail's hitman nerves were coming back, trying to warn his relaxed mind that he was possibly in danger. With a shrug, he lifted one of his arms and patted Ariana's head. "Tell ya what. That door over there" he said, then jabbed a finger at one of the doors "Leads into a guest room. It hasn't been used, so expect some dust. You go ahead and rest from your journey there. When you'd like to talk, you can find me in my room. It's hard to miss." he said, grinning at the wide doors behind them. "I'll come check on you once I've changed." he said, then left her there.
He patted her one last time, and was off. He stepped over the floor, then turned his head and said "Or you could go to my room and wait while I change in the bathroom. Your choice." he said, stopping for a moment. He grinned internally, wondering what her response would be. |
She stood there for a moment, her silver eyebrows narrowed slightly at his patting of her head. She slowly reached up straightening her hair down again before lowering her arms and straigtening the strings on her top before shaking her head. "I suppose I'll take my chances in a cleaner room...", she smirked as her voice rose to a normal volume. She slowly walked across the floor towards him and the massive doors.
|
Ekail barely had time to stiffle a 'Holy shit' when she lifted her arms, further rendering her skimpy outfit useless. He shook his head and turned back to the door, moving towards it. He chuckled slightly, the tips of his hair seeming to vibrate from the action. "Lovely. Yes. Miller is a wonderful man, but he only cleans the rooms I use." he said with a smirk. He reached the door of his room and quietly reached forth and grabbed the handle. He pulled it open, then motioned her inside.
Once inside, he shut the door and strolled over to the three dressers that lined the wall next to his bed. "Make yourself comfortable." he said, then opened a few of the drawers and began to shuffle around, pulling various bits of clothing out. He bent down and grabbed a pair of gray sneakers from under the dresser and shoved a pair of socks in one. He stood back up straight with an armful of clothes, and said "So..Ariana, right? Do you have a last name?" he said as he made his way over to the door to his bathroom. He stopped and set the clothes on the sink, then turned to her and leaned on the doorway. |
She walked across the floor, turning her back to him at one side of the room slowly pulling the black suede bag from her back and dropping it to the floor. She slowly pulled a two-piece staff made of asordium from her back and bent down causing her hair to shift forward revealing a scar up her back, under the fabric that was tied on her back, and up to her shoulder blade. She slowly sat it on the floor as to not create too much noise. She wasn't sure what lurked in the shadows of this manor.
She stood up and turned around to face Ekail, walking across the floor towards him slowly. "Yes. Ariana Celes.. but my last name does not make no matter. Just call me Ariana if you will." She walked towards the bed, unsure about getting too close to Ekail. He caused her senses to tingle a bit too much. She leaned quietly against the bed post, her hands behind her back holding the post as she looked towards him. |
Ekail grinned slightly, in a trance at Ariana for a moment. It snapped when she said her name, and he shook off the lingering fog of voices in his head going 'Whoa. Hot.'. He nodded and said "Well, I am Ekail Lucia Judia, though Ekail is quite fine, Ariana." with a smirk. "Now, if you will excuse me. I need to change." he said, then turned into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He quickly whipped off his current clothing, and settled into his new ones.
Ekail's room was actually quite big, when you looked at it properly. The ceiling hung about 15 feet off the ground, and a pretty but unused crystal light fixture hung in the middle. The bed sat in the left hand corner, and straight across from it was a vanity with a wide assortment of hair care products, and what looked suspiciously like a basin of blood with a variety of blood combs and picks near and in it. To the right of the bed was Ekail's nightstand, and it had a single alarm clock and a candle on it. Further along the wall, underneath the window, were his dressers and another nightstand, this one had gloves and masks on it. And more further along the wall, was a large gun cabinet that was currently cracked, and an empty space where Minaccia should have gone. His computer table sat further along, and the rest of the space was covered by painings and other such things. Ekail finally stepped back out of the bathroom. Now he was in a pair of charcoal jeans, a black 'dress' shirt that was buttoned up. The collar was upturned, and made him look a bit devilish. Over the shirt was a gray vest that covered his shoulders and had a variety of pockets, with a pocketwatch hanging from one. "Sorry about that." he said, then said "How do I look?" in an offhandish way. He stepped over to his shoes and sock, pulled the chair from his bed and proceeded to put them on rapidly. |
Ariana nodded slightly towards him in response as she studied his outfit for a moment. Suddenly she started to snif the air slightly. Her eyes began to dart around the room rapidly. She could smell it again. Stronger this time. Finally she set her sights on the vanity. She narrowed her eyes as she peered towards the basin. She slowly glanced towards the combs and she nearly gasped, but she held her tongue.
She slowly let her gaze go back to Ekail as she started to bite again at her lower lip, harder this time. It was his hair. It was blood. She realized his hair was dyed in blood. She finally knew the scent that was sending her into a frenzy when she was near him. She finally bit through the skin of her lower lip, as a small streak of blood trailed down slowly to her chin. She didn't even notice as she stared at the blood basin. |
Ekail blinked at her for a moment, then noticed her wandering gaze. He followed her eyes to the basin, then finally back to him. He chuckled slightly and lifted a hand to his hair, rubbing it slighlty. "How else do you think it looks so nice?" he said with a strange sort of smirk. He patted his hair back down to proper form, then finally noticed her biting her lip, and the ensuing blood. He grinned suddenly, advancing slowly on her.
"Now thats not good.." he said softly, lifting his hand slowly. As if it was alive, the blood flowing from her lip began to slowly slide into the air, and follow a winding trail through thin air onto Ekail's hand. A last slide of blood remained, and it suddenly formed a thin 'cover' over the cut on her lip, preventing further bloodflow. Ekail bounced the blood in his hand around a biy, the blood taking the form of a small ball. He bounced it and then handed it to Ariana slowly, and it melted into a puddle of blood in her hand. He grinned wickedly, and said "I'm a rather unique person, as you see." with a chuckle. The puddle slowly sank into Ariana's hand and for a moment, the skin was redder then normal. And then it returned to normal as the blood resumed flowing naturally. He lowered his hand again and then stepped back and took a seat in the nearby chair, still grinning. |
She watched him as he toyed with her blood quietly. She hadn't even realized she was bleeding. She then looked at her hand before dropping it down and arching a silver brow. "Yes.. I do see.", she stated flatly as if not even paying attention entirely. She studied his hair some more, her fingers twitching slightly as if wanting to reach out and touch it but she remained still and glanced over at a nearby painting. She really couldn't let her blood lust be known. She has spent so many years hiding the curse the posession laid upon her. How else could a high elf such as her crave such darkness? It was unheard of.
|
Ekail chuckled softly as he flexed his concentration a bit, wondering how she'd react to this next little bit..Her heartbeat told him all he needed to know, really. She was excited by the blood, and probably had some vampiric tendancies..Something he could relate to greatly. He lifted his hand again, then stepped over to her slowly. His hand seemed to turn bright red, before suddenly, the skin seemed to melt. Blood now covered his hand, or more accurately, his hand was now pure blood. He reached and grabbed Ariana's hand softly, the blood feeling something like skin due to Ekail's wonderful control of the texture and grip.
"So..Ariana..Obviously you're unique too..What drew you here today? I know you know.." he said softly, like a whisper. His hand seemed to slide all along hers, and even along her arm too. "Was it this mansion? The people gathered here?..Me?" he said, then pulled her hand up to his lips. He opened his mouth a bit, a pair of vampiric fangs grazing her skin as he kissed the back of her hand. |
Ariana tried to step back out of reflex, but found that she was already against the bed post, her eyes were locked on her hand in his. She watched him closely, swallowing hard as if nervous, she couldn't even spit out the answer to his questions. She could not believe he was affecting her like this, her breathing a bit quicker. She shut her eyes tight trying to shake it, she didn't need to let herself be charmed by this. Was it a spell? She didn't know. She thought to step away, but she found herself completely caught up. She shivered at the touch of his fangs. She continued to fight it in her mind. She had to have control.
|
Ekail grinned in an impish way, then withdrew his hand from hers and let hers fall limply away. His hand slowly faded back, flesh replacing blood and bone regrowing suddenly. A snap sent the messege it wasn't entirely painless, but he didn't seem phased. His hand went against the bedpost over her head, the other resting on the bed itself. He had her cornered, his eyes staring straight through hers into her soul. He felt himself getting lose, quite literally. He leaned in closer, his lips parted a hair's width and his lips touched hers..
And that was it. A touch, and he pulled away. His hands remained, but he kept his head a slight distance away. His eyes still bored into hers, the darkness hooding them nicely. He didn't speak, nor did he feel the need to. Quite simply, he felt content listening to the smashing race of her heart and the windless way she breath. His smirk grew to such that one fang poked out, hanging over his bottom lip fiendishly. His lips were still placed within distance, and his eyes seemed to be screaming at her 'Finish it. If you want it, finish it.'. He hadn't done this in ages, and it made him feel more alive then anything besides his work. |
"Cha-Ching." Andy pauses in the current room under seige, what appeared to be a parlor of sorts. Yanking open an endtable's drawer, she spies the tell-tale shimmer of gold. Lifting it up, she grins at the golden key that was as long as her middle finger. Encrusted in the key were a couple of precious stones, emeralds and topaz from the looks of it. She whistles softly, placing it into her pocket instead of one of the now-three bulging sacks. Further investigation reveals an enchanted ring (carefully placed alongside the key), and a pearl-and-onyx necklace.
"How you feeling, Miss Andy? I'm feeling good, no, I'm feeling REAL good." She thinks to herself, clasping the necklace around her neck and acting like a "pretty lady" for a short while. Spinning around the room in pure joy, the theif laughs merrily in her luck. The way things were going now, she could become a pretty lady, indeed. Andy laughs again, loud and rich. |
She slowly opened her eyes and looked at him completely surprised. She could not understand why a man who barely knew her was so interested in her like this. Sure, she's had her share of filthy men in taverns to try and chase her down, but that always ended quite bloody. Why was someone so refined, so apparently successful, so.. alluring, after her? She was reminded once again of her past lover who was similiar, but nothing like this. She stared at his lips, a lump forming in her throat. Her heart beat drowning out any conscious thought. She couldn't even think anymore. She couldn't take it, she couldn't even breathe. Without even the slightest hesitation she leaned in and met his lips with her own, using her hands on the bed post to steady herself because she could barely even stand any longer.
|
Ekail blinked slightly when she kissed him back, then leaned into it. He hadn't been sure his prodding would work, but apparently he hadn't lost his charm. His arms found their way to wrap around Ariana's waist tightly, pulling her off the bedpost as he stood up. His hands ran over the lower part of her back in circles, matching the motion of his lips. He bit and nibbled at her lips and once his fang actually made a 'twing' sound as it hit one of her teeth softly. He finally pulled off, his eyes alit suddenly. It had been about three hundred years since his last date, four hundred since his last kiss. And this one was good. Very good.
He stared into her eyes for a time, not even panting. Controling blood meant controlling oxygen flow, which was at times quite helpful. He untangled his arms from her back, letting them instead run up her side and rest on her shoulders, holding her steady. "Well now. It's certainly been a while since I've felt that.." he said softly, a genuine smile crossing his face. He leaned in one last time to nip at her lip, then pulled his head back and said in a somewhat amused tone "So, Ariana..How do you feel now?" he said, not even needing an answer. Her heartbeat was like a gong to his ears, being this close. Hell, even he was racing a bit. |
She let out a deep breath as she looked at him "How did you... I.." She couldn't even manage to get the words out. She didn't understand how Ekail was able to have his way with her without ending up on the wrong side of her dagger. She slowly began to calm herself, her heart slowing and her breathing returning to a normal pace. She stood there for a moment watching him uncertain of just what to say. What could she say? She just stood there in the arms of a stranger feeling nothing but pure passion, and wanting nothing more. Oh how long it had been since she felt that way. She hadn't let herself feel anything beyond hatred towards a man for a long time, and maybe respect for a very small number. She glanced away from him for a moment towards the wall, before looking back to him. She blinked before finally simply asking, "Why?"
|
"Hmm..A good question.." he said in a low tone, staring into her still. He leaned back a bit, his hands rubbing gently at her shoulders. He carefully pulled off her, stepping back so that there was enough space she could move a bit. He smirked a bit, then said "I guess it all boils down..To a certain..natural attraction.." he said "I don't intend to be able to explain it.." he added, then lifted his hand to her hair and toyed with a strand of it gently. "But I wonder if you don't understand..Hm?" he asked in another low tone. He carefully pulled his hand down from her hair and wrapped it around her waist, pulling her into his arms gently. "Or am I wrong?" he asks, tilting his head slightly. Once again, the grin where his fang hangs over his lip returns.
|
Ariana gazed up into the eyes of Ekail, the emerald glinting in them as she studied him. She knew the answer herself. She understood it all this time, it just finally now made sense. Going back as far as the arena it was him. Always him that brought her in. She nodded slowly, "I do.. I feel it too." She had finally found a darkness that rivaled even her own. So much that she could not even remain in her usual disposition. Her entire demeanor was shattered, and she no longer was the typical Ariana that many came to know and fear.
She had reached a place within herself that she had not expressed since long before her son passed away. Long before her past lover succumbed to the damnation of the undead because of his fascination with being a necromancer. And even more so that she had to take his life before he took her's. She had found herself back to the same feelings she felt, but much more intense. Ekail was truly an enigma to her, and that pulled on her inside even more. |
Ekail nodded slightly, lifting his hand and taking hers softly. "So..Ariana." he said, pulling her hand up to his chest over his heart. He smiled slightly, which looked somewhat evil in the darkness of the room. He slowly pulled her into his arms, wrapping an arm around her shoulders tightly. He leaned down and grazed a kiss over her cheek, then set his face on her shoulder with a chuckle. "I've been rather lonely as of late.." he said, then smirked and gently nipped at her shoulder. "Perhaps you'd consider staying a while?" he said. He leaned back slightly and looked into her eyes, a grin in both his face and eyes.
|
When Ekail got close to her body she tensed up and almost reflexively reached for her dagger on her hip, but lowered her hand slowly before he noticed. She wasn't used to being touched anymore. She didn't let anyone near her. At least not in a long time. She thought for a moment while looking at Ekail's amber eyes, her head still filled with the scent of his hair, almost making her dizzy. "I've not stayed anywhere long. Trouble has its way of finding me, at least.. in a sense.", she allowed herself to smirk softly, the first hint of amusement she has shown since she found herself in Ekail's prescence.
She studied the grin on Ekail's face, her insides just tingling as if she was on some sort of mind altering herb. She thought for a moment and slowly moved her gaze up to his eyes, "I don't suppose it would kill me to linger a bit. If that is what you wish." She knew she could take this a few different ways. One, she could use this opportunity to study Ekail and learn just what is drawing her in. Two.. well, she just couldn't seem to follow through with taking advantage of him and gaining the things she desired. She was known to manipulate and twist someone's heart until she got what she wanted, but this time, even her heart wanted him. She couldn't seem to understand herself anymore. Three, she could let herself be free for once. She could let herself be close to a man after so many years. She may have the appearance of a human in their early twenties, but she was well over a hundred. It had been too long. |
Ekail chuckled deeply, then shook his head in amusement. "You think trouble finds you? I've had my arms sliced off, my legs blown off by fireballs, my entire body blown into bite sized pieces and I've had the lovely experiance of being burned from the inside out." he said, then lifted his hand to toy with her hair again. His eyes never seemed to leave hers for a second, until he closed them for a moment and leaned in for another grazed kiss.
"Well, I don't suppose it would kill you, eiather." he said with a grin, then pulled off of her. With a twist of his wrist, he had let go of her hair and it fell perfectly back into place on her head. "So now that you've decided to stay, would you like a tour or simply to remain here on this floor?" he said, another grin on his face. The second Andy placed the key in her pocket, he felt it. Someone had found the key to his binds, the key to his freedom. He jolted from his daze, suddenly more alert then ever. "My keeeey.." he nearly hissed, his voice going into a whisper. "She has my keey.." he muttered, then closed his eyes. His last bit of magical energy, hidden from these damned power sucking chains. He'd use it. It was a one in a trillion shot, but he'd use it. The door to the room Andy was in suddenly opened, and outside it was..Nothing? No. Sitting in the doorway, was a fist sized ruby. Slowly, a small trail of them seemed to fade in from air, leading directly to the third floor library.. |
Varina took great care as she made her way along the wall of the mansion - she had no idea where either of her quarry had gone, and she was not eager to be spotted before she found them. She knew without seeing them that they were dangerous, and although she was curious, this made her edgy as well. The area around the mansion was very open, and although she could always leave via portal, there was the matter of actually having the time to open one if she was in danger.
What bothered her most, however, was who the first stranger was. Although a small part of her thought it was Hayate...no, no it couldn't be. True, she had sort of wished to meet him for a long time now. But at the same time....how would he react if and when he saw her? This power felt somewhat like Tor's, but unlike it. Varina...they're near! Lofn whispered harshly. Varina stopped just before the corner of the mansion, and carefully peered around it. She saw the figure of a man standing on the fence, waiting for something...or someone? Don't move, Alf said. He is close. |
The Messenger noted the fissues decorating the ground around the fence-dancer, and positions himself at what he deemed to be a safe distance (about twice as far), before talking to Miller, sheathed sword still tapping on his shoulder.
"The Master?" He looked around in mock surprise, with little smile on his face. "You mean this wasn't an amusement park? I suppose your master and myself should have a chat then..." |
Miller quietly chuckled and closed his eyes, feeling amused for a moment. "Ah yes. My master will be quite happy to recive you, just as soon as you prove you're capable of entering. I am Miller Valtrap, Caretaker and sometimes Guardian of Judia Mansion." he said. He stood up straight suddenly, his slightly uncombed hair bouncing. His hands came out from behind his back, but simply then sat at his sides, unmoving. "And I assume you don't wish to state your name?" he said, his polite and calm voice somehow echoing over the island.
|
Varina's eyes widened as she spotted the winged figure beyond the man called Miller. "It's him," she whispered. "It's Hayate..." That part of her that had wished to see him now willed her to go out there, to get a closer look, to call his name.
But she knew he wasn't the same man that he had been long ago, just as she was no longer the same woman. In turn, as far as she knew, he had no idea that she even existed now. He believed that Elissa was dead. Tor would not have told him of what he had done; if he had, he wouldn't be alive. If Hayate knew that she had been ripped from that time, and made to remain alive, who knew what he would do? What will you do, Varina? Lofn asked. Varina nibbled at her lip. "Nothing, now," she replied softly. "We will wait and see how this plays out first." Do you intend to wait until Hayate tires himelf out, in the event he might wish to kill you? Alf asked. Varina shook her head. "If he is anything like me and Tor...he won't be tired out easily. Even by this man." |

Andy lets out an excited whoop. Greed was her strength, not suspicion as to why there was suddenly a ruby in the door. Running along, she lifts it and studies it with a semi-trained eye, laughing joyfully. Scooping them all as she goes, it is in a surprisingly short amount of time before she is throwing the door to the library open. |
His eyes closed slightly, saving his further energy. Hopefully, his body would hold out through a few more bursts of magic. He felt elated, on a level. Finally, after being locked in here for so many long years..He would be free. Free to take his revenge. Free to take what was his. He drooped in his bonds, letting all his strength go to make use of it for his next bit..
As Andy stepped into the library, the key in her pocket glowed softly. The fire in the fireplace suddenly grew darker, until it disappeared. The fireplace seemed to suddenly vanish, brick by brick, and a pathway opened. It led down a dark stone hallway, and to a spiraling staircase, downward. |
She pauses, the inborn suspicion and caution of a thief suddenly smacking back into her. Dropping the sacks and carefully stowing them under a chair, she nervously inspects the passage, not stepping foot into it. Inching forward, the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Not a good sign. "You don't need this. You have enough loot. Turn around."
She takes a step back, unsure and unwilling. |
He gasped in the darkness, suddenly feeling hopeless. She was faltering..Time to take this up a notch. He strained his already weak body, drawing the last of his power into a series of simple spells and twists.
Upstairs, a glint appeared at the top of the staircase. A ruby seemed to have dropped down from the ceiling, then went tumbling down the staircase for a while. As it did, if Andy went closer to inspect it, she would hear a deathly faint voice crying 'Help me..' from the darkness below. The staircase went down for a long while, torches lighting as the ruby fell, then hit the bottom of the room with a 'tink'. The room below was a simple square, which led into another hallway, this hallway was made of glass and outside it, was the sights of the ocean. The room was built quite clearly under the island. |
Andy continues to hesitate, wondering idly if this was the ring's influence. "Why should I risk my life for one ruby? I already have tons." She argues with herself as she descends the first step.
She reaches the bottom of the stairs and goes for the ruby, hoping to grab it and run before anything notices her. |
His freedom was closer..All she needed to do was step through the tunnel. All she needed to do was open the door and free him..His strength now drained as he sent out one final magical burst, he slumped in his chains.
Andy's hopes were pretty much in vain. The second she reached the bottom of the steps, they turned flat. Every single step slumped down, making it impossible to climb back up for the time. The glass hallway seemed to light up slowly, beckoning. Beyond the hallway, a soft red door sat. Also near it, were small piles of golden coins, dusty and slightly dulled. The soft voice continued to call for help, orginating from that door... |
"...Shit." She spins on her heel, racing up the slope, but eventually sliding back down. The loom of treasure kept her from trying again. "Guess I'm not going back that way." Nervously, cautiously, using all of her stealth and skills, the Queen of Thieves begins down the tunnel.
|
The moment she stepped into the tunnel, and even moreso as she neared the door, a magical air began to float about. As she stepped over a miscolored bit of glass, suddenly the place changed. She seemed to have stepped through an invisable wall, which now brought her to this..place.
The room was very big, and everything was deep red in color. Small torches hung on the walls, lighting the place. The piles of gold were still there, but now they were revealed to be much larger then they seemed. They stretched backwards against the walls, and glimmered in the faint light. And there, in the middle of the wall, directly across form Andy.. Was a man. He looked no older then twenty, his features distorted by pain, hunger and weakness. His hair was an unatural gray, and it seemed to grow even as she stood there. It reached all the way around him, seeming to be growing in the chains that held him there. They were massive, thick metal chains that tied him against the wall tightly. His hair seemed like vines, growing amongst them and winding about them. His eyes were closed, and he was dressed in a tattered, faded robe that time seemed to have missed a bit. His eyes opened slowly, pale red staring back at Andy. Despite the poor lighting, they seemed to push through the darkness at her. His eyes closed once more, and he moaned "Oh..help me.." in a feeble tone. He drooped a bit more in the chains, his body seeming like a stick amongst the forest of metal and blood. |

"I.. see.", she plainly said as she thought of her own experiences. She lifted her arm and looked under the edge of her gauntlet, smoothing her hand down to move the black glove that was beneath it a bit and shook her head before glancing up at Ekail. She wasn't sure how to behave at all. In situations like this, she was usually the one toying with someone to get whatever she willed. If he had been any other man, she would have already tried to either kill him, or even seduce him to give him false hopes of something more until she got what she willed. Ekail was different. This bothered her deeply. She even felt moments where she nearly smiled, but just could not. It had been too long since she had smiled... at least a smile of pleasure, only mania. Then it happened, a faint sensation ran through her that sparked her attention. Ariana began to look around confused, her visage changing completely as her emerald eyes narrowed. Suddenly they glazed over in a blue tone as a natural inborn spell began to take over. This spell allowed her to pick up on magical tendencies nearby, and if in the same area or room, she could see their aura if she tried. Something about this magic grabbed her attention, because normally she could turn the spell on and off as she willed. She had picked up on a strange magic, an inhuman magic. It was faint, almost dead it seemed. There wasn't much life in the sorcery that she felt. She shut her eyes and began to think before opening them again, her attention not even on Ekail any longer. She glanced around the room, her eyes not picking up on any magical aura so she let her eyes finally fade back to their original color. She had hoped Ekail hadn't seen. She wouldn't know how to explain it. She couldn't let him know she was an enchantress, he'd have the upper hand. That could not be allowed. She let out a slow breath and brought her gaze up to meet Ekail's eyes. She did not say a word. |
Andy gapes and stays where she is. "...What's in it for me?" Her intent is obvious. She wants the gold that is gleaming oh-so-wonderfully.
|
He chuckled to himself in his mind. This girl knew what she wanted. "You can..take it all..I can even..make..more...." he coughed out, obviously pained with each word. "I..created..those..rubies.." he mumbled. "Take the key you found..Press it to the chains..." he said slowly, before closing his eyes and sighing, exhaustion starting to overtake him. If she didn't help him soon, he'd probably die quite quickly.
If Ekail did notice, he didn't say a word. He had actually caught a split second glimpse, but decided not to adress the issue. There would be time for secrets and explanations later. More importantly, he decided, was getting to know her. "I live a wild life." he said, then sighed. "Or used to." with a hint of disdain. His smile dipped into a frown, before he shrugged and softly took her hand in his. He was smiling softly, his eyes glued to hers again. "You know, you're quite beutiful." he said, then smirked again. He let go of her hand, instead putting a hand on her face and stroking her cheek with his thumb. "It's actually been quite some time since I've seen a woman are good looking as you. Much less had them in my room." he said, his smirk growing somehow. He let go of her face, then walked over and sat down on his bed. He sat down on the blanket, which somehow didn't seem disturbed in the least by his movement. The entire bedset was black, and matched his clothes nicely. He leaned back, paying his head on a small, square pillow that was laying there. "Well, Ariana. If you want, you can look around yourself, too. Just don't go outside. Miller is likely to chop you into pieces if you do." |
"You made them? Than are they worth anything?" She takes a moment to look at them, then notices his failing life. "...Ok, fine. But you've got to swear you won't kill me aftewards."
|
Adjusting her hip belt slightly, she stepped across the floor to the vanity. She had wanted to go near it for sometime. She stood there with her back to Ekail, looking down into the blood basin, her mind beginning to cloud with thoughts. She had her hands in front of her on the chair out of sight. Ariana slowly reached out towards the basin with a bare hand, her heart picking up slightly but she paused. She could feel Ekail's eyes on her as she slowly pulled her hand back and spun around, leaning against the chair.
She parted her lips as she began to say something but stopped herself. Watching Ekail quietly she shook her head before speaking, "I'm not really in the exploring mood." She had figured whatever magic she had sensed was gone now. It seemed dead already to begin with. Why should she bother with it. |
Ekail nodded, sitting up slowly. He'd seen her go over to his basin, but he wrote it off as her looking at it, maybe making sure it was blood? He didn't really know, nor care. He shrugged and said "Well, that leaves tour, which is boring, or chatting. Which works." he said with a chuckle. He felt relaxed in her presense, somehow. Maybe he'd actually found someone he could be with..But he didn't quite know yet. And he didn't feel like using the word 'love' until he was sure she was sure. He stared at her face for a moment, the gave a halfhearted shrug and dropped back down onto the pillow.
He groaned softly in the darkness, his patience wearing. So close.."I swear..I won't hurt you at all..Just..Let me down..I need to move..I need my strength.." he gasped, his life fading quickly. Each word was like a slice off some invisable timer, and his body seemed to be graying before Andys eyes.. |
"Well...okay." With newfound confidence, she assuredly moves to the chains and touches the key to them. She doesn't take her time, rather quickly tapping each, than moving away, torn between watching to see what happens next and doing a head-long dive into the piles of wealth.
|
When Andy stepped back, the chains began to rattle faintly on the wall. His eyes opened slowly, life suddenly returning to his body. The chains began to fall away, then scatter into nothing in the wind as he fell onto the floor, his strength gone. He groaned, his body weak and drained. "Thank..you." he muttered, then closed his eyes. Now he needed to rest, rest while his powers came back..Those chains had drained him for a long time. Now he needed sleep, something those chains had also prevented. No food, no water..His warden would pay for that.
|
Walking over towards the bed slowly Ariana kept her eyes on Ekail. She finally let her eyes move from his eyes to slowly move down his body, studying him. She made sure to take notice of the folds of his clothes and even the way his hair laid across the pillow. She wanted to touch his hair, badly. She couldn't. She stopped a couple of feet from his side, and slowly brought her eyes up to look at him. She whispered something in elvish to herself as if making a mental note, or even making a small request of herself. She looked over towards her bag and staff as if just making sure they were still there. Ariana looked back to him. Ekail was truly a sight to behold, and Ariana was almost at her breaking point. Being in his prescence was finally beginning to fully get to her.
|
"Why were you up there?" She asks, half interested, walking over to the gold pile and falling to her knees, lifting up two big handfuls and letting it run through her fingers. Tears of joy begin to slip down her grim-encrusted cheecks. All of the years, living on the street. All of the years, wasting away under the tortorous eyes of some warden, of building herself a reputation and watching her bounty rise higher and higher. It had all, finally, paid off. Pulling up a gold tiara, she places it on her head. "Truly, truly now, I am the Queen."
|
Ekail's arm twitched on the bed, and then shot up to gently grasp hers. He pulled her down onto the bed next to him, a grin on his face. "Enjoying yourself?" he asked, his voice playful and full of humor. He pulled her hand to his mouth, kissing it softly and then trailed kisses up past her wris to her elbow, then let go and put his hands behind his head, propping himself up further. She had been staring, so he now started back. His eyes scanned over her in what could only be described as a wave of motion, taking in the most minute details. The color of her skin, the strak in her hair, her clothes. Even the way her hair seemed to cling to her face in certian areas. All made her look even more beutiful to him. He muttered under his breath, then looked back up into her eyes.
He sighed softly, adjusting on the ground and rolling over onto his back. The floor of this place was not as comfortable as he'd thought, but his strength WAS returning. Slowly, he lifted his hand and one of the gold coins near him began to twist and bend, until it formed a golden cane which he grabbed. He began to push himself up, his robe making him look like some sort of hospital patient. He staggered to full height, which was about six two. He looked over at Andy, his red eyes once more drilling out of the darkness. "He locked me in here almost two hundred years ago..I hadn't done anything." he said, a whimper in his voice. "..Who are you? I didn't think fa- Ekail would let people touch his treasures.." he asked, suddenly cutting his tongue. Ekail wasn't that any longer, oh no. |
"...My name's Andy. He didn't exactly...let...me in. But he didn't stop me, either." That much was true, at least. "And I'm not touching, I'm stealing." He swore he wouldn't kill her. The worst he would do now is get some sort of police, and Andy highly doubted that. "Two hundred years, eh? You sure bout that?"
|
Ariana gasped as she fell slightly into the bed and sat up next to him. She instinctively threw her hand out to catch herself, causing it to be pressed to the bed on the other side of his waist, her kind of, looming over him until she sat up. She hesitated for a brief moment before leaning forward some, trying to play off as if she was adjusting the lacing on her knee high boots, but in all reality she was taking in the scent of his hair, and this caused her heart to stir again. She paused for a moment and then sat up slowly to look down on him. She sat there fiddling with her gauntlet on her hand absent-mindedly, not even really paying much attention that she was fidgeting.
|
"Seems like a thousand. I've been hanging on that wall, no sleep, no food and no water. Nothing but the silence and the flickering lights to keep me alive. You figure out ways to chalk up the years." he said, his voice soft and dark. There was a giggle in it, the voice of a person who wasn't all there in the head. He seemed on the edge of breaking into a cackle all the time. He began to move slowly, as if testing his ability to do so. His mane of hair dragged on the floor behind him, resembling a frayed and tattered cape. He stopped shortly, and sat down on one of the mountains of gold. "My name is Jakail, Andy." he said, then closed his eyes.
Ekail grinned slightly, letting his hand grasp hers tightly and pulled her down again over him. He navigated her head over his, then drew her down into a rather fierce kiss. His other arm went around her shoulders tightly, drawing her into it more. It lasted for a few seconds, before Ekail pulled her back away and leaned upward, letting his hair dangle in the air. He pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her head against his shoulder gently. "It's been a long time since I've felt this, you know..This..Happiness? Pleasure? It's been ages. But it comes so naturally now.." he said, kissing the side of her head. "With you, anyway.." he added. |
"Pleased, I'm sure. And you're sitting on my gold." She feels a twinge of doubt. "It is mine, right? And you're not going to lock me up in here in your place?"
She gets a sudden flashback, to this last prison cell she had the honor of being in. A seemingly inescapable metal box, with nothing but a door. She remembers feeling like it was the last place she'd ever be, the last she'd ever see before dying. And then she had gotten a stroke of luck when the drunk warden hadn't locked her in all the way. From that minor slip-up, she had made her way free. Someway, Andy knew that if she was locked in here, there would be no escape until some unlucky soul brought along a key. |
Swallowing hard, Ariana's heart began to beat faster, it was happening again. The intoxication from his scent, the feeling of his arms around her body, his voice ringing in her pointed ears like music. She slowly allowed her hands to move up and rest on each of his arms, wary of letting herself embrace him fully. She always had to have access to the dagger on her hip in case her magic failed her. She took a deep breath, knowing that Ekail could feel her breathing against his own body. She slowly let her eyes close, she understood how he felt, but she didn't know if he was lying to her. It wouldn't be the only person to say that and then turn on her. It could not be the last.
There was no way that this man wanted her to be his, to keep her. He didn't even know her. She just thought that he was like the others, falling victim to a charm they didn't know. She didn't even have to use a charming spell, it just happened, and she hated herself for it. She let out a soft sigh, letting her breath move through his hair as her breathing slowed, her eyes remaining closed as her body seemed to still remain tense, her hands unable to remain completely still against his arms. |
Ekail's mouth twitched slightly as she put her arms on him, a tingle spreading over him as he felt her hands. He lifted his arms from her and instead grabbed her hands tightly, pulling them closer to him. She made him feel..Alive. Happy. Playful. Emotions he'd checked off a while ago as counterproductive. Now he was feeling them all in a way he'd only had the pleasure of experiancing once. He pulled her into a quick kiss, then smirked at her, their faces not even an inch apart.
"I think I'm falling for you, Ariana." he said simply. His mouth twitched into a grin, then he leaned in for a deeper kiss. He wanted suddenly to be with her. It wasn't a sort of passive 'I love you' notion, it was a 'I will have you' type emotion. He didn't care now if he had to use those vampiric charming spells he knew, he would have her one way or another. No person could ignite this within him and walk away, oh no. His train of thought crashed as he pulled Ariana and himself further onto the bed, so his legs were no longer hanging off and broke the kiss, grinning at her. "The magic that holds those chains togather is gone. The key is useless now, nothing more then a guady trinket and I don't have the energy to stand, let alone force you against a wall, lift five hundred pound chains and bind them to your soul." Jakail said simply. "And yes, it's your gold. Go spend it on a castle. A mansion. Hell, go buy a town. I don't care.." he mumbled, his eyes drooping. He leaned back against the pile, sighing. "I don't need money anyway. I can create whatever I could possibly want or need." he said. As if to make his point, he lifted one of his hands and chains hanging against the wall suddenly began to bend and shift, shortening and spinning until they turned into..Clothes? The chains had been completely changed, now hanging on the wall was several items of clothing, including shoes. Jakail pushed himself up, and walked over to them. Not really caring about Andy at the moment, he began to get dressed, throwing the tattered robe as far as his weak arms could. |
She watches him silently, remembering times that she had been in a similar state of weakness. Walking over to him, she wordlessly aids him to dress, her heart full of sympathy. "I've been where you are, in ways. I know your pain...at least parts of it." She thinks. Andy didn't see any reason to say anything. It was obvious that she's been where he is, or something close enough to it. Smiling softly, she gives him an awkward pat on the shoulder. "There's nothing quite like being free, is there?"
|
Jakail gave a nod to Andy and said "Thank you.." and adjusted the pale gray shirt he'd chosen. He glanced over at her as she patted him, then gave a sad smile. "I've been hanging from a wall for half my life. It is indeed a great feeling." he said simply, then sighed as he leaned against the wall. "Ekail will probably try to stop you from leaving with his treasures.." he said suddenly, as if pondering. Quietly, he stepped back from the wall and seemed lost in deep concentration. The wall infront of them seemed to glow faintly light blue, and swirled for a moment before solidifying into something of a portal. He gasped, putting his arm against the wall next to the portal. "God.." he mumbled, then shook his head.
"This will lead you out of here..I think it will lead you on the other side of the bridge, off this place.." he said, then smirked. "I'm going. I want to get as far away from this hell as possible. Come back here when your through pilfering." he said, then turned to Andy. He grabbed her hand, shook it gently and then grinned. "Keep your eyes out for me. One day this place is going to go up in flames." he said, then let go and promptly leapt into the portal, disappearing without a trace. |
Hearing those words, Ariana's thought pattern snapped. She pulled back from him and raised up on her knees on the bed, backing up a little as she eyed him suspiciously. She placed her hands on her hips and tapped her sheath lightly, pondering. She'd heard those words before, and she just could not fall for them again. To her, no man truly wanted her for who she was within. She held a soul that wasn't like a normal elf, or human for that matter.
She had been posessed long ago, and even now that she was free, she held a deeper darkness that was greater than even she knew. She just did not realize that Ekail too, had his darkness, and that's what drew her to him in the first place, but now it was more. She glanced away from him, no longer able to look at his face. It wasn't that she didn't want to look at him, it was that she couldn't control herself when she did. She shook her head, saying something in elven to herself. Sbe started to make her way to the edge of the bed, in the direction of her belongings, she couldn't let herself fall victim to another lie. She did not want to fall in love again, only to turn and kill him afterwards, she couldn't love anyone anymore, and she was going to make sure that it stayed that way. |
Ekail's eyes seemed to cloud over in that moment. He could feel an emotion he hated..Hurt. The last time he'd felt hurt, he'd turned two towns and a office building into a smoldering pile of corpses and rubble. He managed to resist exploding at the moment, simply reaching across and grabbing her arm tightly. He felt like a statue, any tugs like trying to move a wall. He began the process of calming himself, deciding to go the normal route for now..Hypnosis could wait.
"Ariana.." he said slowly, then pulled her towards him. It was swift..His true strength could have pulled her, the bed and several of his other large objects to him without breaking a sweat. As it was, she landed on her stomache on his chest, eye to eye with him. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, just staring at her. "...Why. I can feel it. I can hear the race your heart speaks to me. Do you really want to run?" he said, pressing his lips against her neck softly. "Do you really want to turn away from me.." he said slowly. He poured a certain amount of his vampiric nature into the words. Just enough so that she couldn't try and deny her true feelings, but not enough to make her a slave. He wasn't quite willing to resort to that, yet. |
Ariana felt her heart drop into her stomach, and in that moment it began to beat faster than ever. A chill went down her spine and over her body when his lips touched the skin of her neck. She buried her head into his shoulder and shut her eyes not sure what to say, what to do, she just couldn't look at him. She damned herself inside, her frustration with herself was apparent only by her hands that were shaking as she used them to hold onto each side of him on the covers. "If you only knew...", she stated as calmly as she could, lifting her head slightly, but not looking at him, her hair hanging about her face, hiding it. She sighed and spoke softly, "You don't need to ruin yourself with the likes of me..."
|
Ekail smirked softly, letting his eyes grin with him. He gently pulled her closer to him, if that was possible at all, and said "You have no idea, yourself.." he said, his voice low. "I've been alone for five hundred years. I watched my last lover throw herself onto a knife to end her life. I've had to lock my own son in a dungeon to keep his anger over it from destroying this place. Belive me, I was ruined ages before you were even born." he said simply, letting his hands trail over her skin softly. "I'd rather you ruin me further, then be alone for the rest of time." he said.
His hands reached up into her hair, toying with it softly. He used his wind powers to flick a strand of his hair onto her face, knowing it excited her somehow. He leaned up and licked at her bottom lip in a gentle way, then nipped at it. |
Her emerald eyes went wide as she looked down at him, the first time real worry appeared on her face. She froze staring at him when he stated that about his past. She wasn't sure what to say or do. Should she tell him..? No, never. That would give too much upperhand on her. Someone already showed her false illusions to make her think that her lover was still alive and human, who is to say someone wouldn't again.
Her train of thought was completely blind sided when his hair grazed across her face, and she closed her eyes. It had been a while since she let herself taste blood, because when she did, she became completely wild. If she was fighting, she'd become what most would call psychotic, and if in a situation like this, her lust would take over. She was longing for it badly at this point, she let her entire body relax, letting her face rest against his shoulder. She couldn't really think about what to do, and why any longer. She was just there now. |
Ekail smirked slightly, feeling and clearly hearing he heart hammer faster as his hair hit her face. He was right. She apparently did like blood..Or perhaps just his hair. Regardless, he felt her relax against him slowly, and smiled. "I promise you...I'm not going to betray you. I've lost too much to betrayal to do it to anyone." he said simply. He knew she was holding something back, something she didn't feel like admitting. Maybe another time, maybe he'd hypnotise it out of her..Regardless, he just felt like laying here now. He leaned up slowly, her still in his arms and pulled himself against the wall next to the bed. The bed was pushed against it, so he was able to do so comfortably.
He pulled her into a gentle kiss, then softly let her slide from his arms onto the bed beside him, on her back. He grinned, then ran one of his hands over her arm, loving the feel and sound of her blood coursing faster through her veins..It was all darkly pleasing to him, and he loved every second. "What do you say..Can you trust me?" he said, gently grabbing her hand. |
She slowly glanced up at him from her position on the bed, she felt relaxed. "Trust.. you..?", the words seemed foriegn to her. She slowly nodded her head, not really sure if it was the truth or not, but she went with it. If it turns out she didn't, then she'd have an advantage in making him believe she trusted him and didn't. She just didn't know the answer yet to it. It wasn't a lie, yet. She shut her eyes again and took a deep breath.
Her mind was fogged with thoughts of so many things. She wanted to touch Ekail. She wanted to hold him to her and keep him to herself. She wanted to listen to his heart beat. She wanted a lot of things all in that one moment. And everytime she caught sent of his hair, she wanted to completely take over him. She began to wonder just who's blood it was. It was sweet, and she could tell it seemed human. |
Ekail smiled softly, nodding slightly. He felt peaceful suddenly again. He just loved that feeling. It calmed the torment in his mind, the voices and the agony of his life. He leaned over and planted a soft kiss on Ariana's neck, then smirked slightly. He caught her eye, and leaned down to her. He let his hair hair fall over, clouding on her face and a few falling near her lips. He leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. He suddenly grinned, his eyes slightly twinkling. "You like my hair, hm?" he said, then leaned back slowly. He reached up and twirled his hand in his hair, then reached down and placed his hand on her cheek. "..Want some?" he said suddenly. A strand of his hair began to lose color, as a drop of blood began to form at it's tip.
|
Ariana's eyes shot open wide as she sat up quickly, staring at him. How did he know that it was the blood that she wanted? This question repeated in her mind several times as she stared at his eyes. She slowly let her eyes move to his hair and her lower lip quivered, she bit it, hard. "What are you talking about?", she said trying to sound calm, but her heart was pounding. "Why would I want t- who's is it?", she tried to calm herself but her entire body was at war with itself, she was fighting her primal urges. She knew that blood would send her into a fit, but she didn't know who's blood it was, and that would determine just how it affected her. She sat there, gnawing on her lower lip.
|
Ekail grinned softly, then flicked the blood onto his finger. He licked at it slowly, cleaning his finger and then he touched the finger against Ariana's lips gently and pulled it back again. "Oh..It's.." he said, looking like he was thinking for a moment. Then he grinned and leaned in, kissing at her ear gently. His breath sounded low, like a whispering wind blowing through a tree. "Mine." he said, then gently nipped at her earlobe. He pulled her further into his grip, his mind racing. He knew shortly Miller would probably be interuppting him, so he didn't want to get too..Involved, with this, but it was hard. He shook his head slightly, then lifted his head into a grin and stared into her eyes.
His mind raced to the last time he'd had a woman he'd felt like this about..Damn, had it really been that long? He shuddered internally, feeling neglected suddenly. Maybe this current situation would remedy that. But for now, he was content driving her insane, in a managable way. |
Ariana froze when she heard it was his blood. She looked him over, her eyes searching wildly for something, but nothing at the same time. She was completely lost. She wanted to take her dagger and just cut herself to snap her out of this trance he had her in, and the thought was almost too tempting as she sat there with her hand resting on the jewel at the top of the hilt. She slowly ran her tongue over her lower lip, hoping to gain just some taste of it, finally making it very apparent to Ekail that she wanted to taste it. She just sat there quietly, her grip growing tighter on her dagger without realizing it.

Ekail's hand slowly slide onto hers, taking it off her dagger and gripping it tightly. He leaned up and smiled at her, then kissed at her lip. He knew somehow that letting her taste his blood would turn this into a sitatuon he wouldn't be able to control, and his schedule didn't allow for that too much. He calmly put his finger over her lips, pressing gently. "Later. Later. When you won't be interuppted." he said, winking. He let go of her slowly, then leaned against the wall again. He really did want to just wrap his arms around her and lose his mind, but he couldn't. Not yet, not yet. He'd have to be patient, and hoped she would be. He reached back and took her hand again, putting it on his neck to feel his pulse. "Trust me. We'll have plenty of time." he said with a wicked grin.

The steady, unwavering that beat against her fingertips made Ariana shiver, she grinned slightly, shadows playing on her face making it look much more darker than it was. She slowly pulled her hand down, letting it trail over his collar bone and down his chest before dropping it into her lap. "Perhaps you do know something about me... but reasoning is everything.", she stated in reference to why a high elf would have such a blood lust. She reached up and grabbed all of her hair pulling it to the side, twisting it so that it wouldn't be all over the place and tossing it back behind her back.
|
Ekail grinned brightly and reached up to her face, brushing a loose strand out of her eyes. "Oh it is?" he said, then chuckled. He pulled his arm down, trailing over her arm and onto her leg, then back again into her hair gently. He way her skin felt against his fingertips..He'd never felt anything like it. He smiled and then looked up into her eyes, staring. "You look great. Simply wonderful." he said, then smirked and leaned up to kiss her again. "Now. Lets get up and do something besides this, or else things might get..Too interesting, too fast, hm?"
|
Ariana nodded her head slowly, she knew that his words were true. She slowly turned around and slid over to the edge of the bed, standing up slowly and adjusting her belt on her hip. "What do you have in mind...? Oh yes, and how long do you intend for me to stay?", she asked. She supposed she should know these things if she was to be staying here, she also wondered what room she would occupy if he didn't use the guest room he mentioned. She shruged that off and turned around to face him, looking at him quietly.

"Better I leave sooner than later. Besides...I've collected enough here to more than ten times fund that expedition at Icebreak." She grins, laughs, and starts the rather long process of making the massive amounts of gold moveable. After a while, a dozen or so well secured packages lean against the wall. Andy sighs and cracks her neck. "I suppose that'll do. I wish I could get the loot back upstairs, though."
Ah, greed. Andy finds, to her surpreme joy, that the staircase had come back. She makes her way up the stairs. In no particular rush, the theif begins to poke around the library. On a small table by a stack of books is a pipe. Shrugging, she picks it up to add to her collection. |
"As long as you want to stay. Not a second more or less." he said with a smile. "I dunno..We could tour the place..Get your rooming ideas sorted out, get food..Go outside and watch Miller kill people in violent ways?" he said, rattling off the list in a bored manner. Truth be told, he wanted to just curl up on his bed and take a nap. But that would have to wait. Heaven forbid he get a decent nap in today. Guests, soup and even life itself seemed to be against his getting a decent days rest.

Ariana quietly walked across the room to the window and peered through one of the black curtain's edge as she looked to the distant horizon. She didn't know how long she'd stay, she didn't even know what posessed her to stay. She really didn't care what they did. In all reality, she didn't know what she was even doing anymore, or thinking. She was just going through the motions and hoping that she doesn't get caught up in a web unable to get out. If that were the case though, she'd have her revenge. It would come swiftly and unexpected if needed.
