Ekail shrugged softly and rose quietly. He was slightly in thought, wondering what it'd be like to have someone else in this old place after so long. Miller never really spoke, and when he did it was the dull 'Yes sirs' he was used to by now. He needed a person, not a slave. He chuckled softly to himself, and finally came up behind Ariana. He wrapped his arms around her waist tightly and huggs against her back, humming softly. "Well..Obviously bedding arrangements are crucial..Do you want me to clean up a guest room..Move a bed in here..What?" he said, leaning his chin on her head. There was obviously space for another bed in this room. In fact, it looked as if there had been another in here at some point, judging from the empty space near Ekail's bed.

Forbidden Angel 12-07-2005 11:02 PM

She kept her eyes on the horizon as she sighed to herself. It had been a long time since she had slept with a man, and in a nonsexual way. She longed to feel the warmth of someone's body next to her's again. She slowly brought her arms up and placed them over his, holding him there as she thought. She spoke quietly, "Whatever is most comfortable for you... I do not want to impose." She felt herself going soft on the inside. She didn't want to upset him or get in his way. Normally she wouldn't care. What was happening to her? Her hard shell was fading with each passing minute.

She leans back a bit with her head, resting it against him as she shut her eyes thinking. "I can just sleep on the floor or something, especially if you do not intend for me to stay long. It would not be the first time I have done such a thing. Two nights ago, I slept on a large tree branch sitting up, have not slept since." After sleeping against a tree trunk, half asleep to keep from falling, and half in meditation to regain magical strength, she didn't mind sleeping on the floor.

Shien 12-07-2005 11:14 PM

Ekail winced, then said "I don't belive I've slept in almost a week. Today I got back from a..buisness trip to a port town, then had to hop around for my employer for another job, then back here today." he said with a sigh. He hugged her against him more, an idea bouncing in his head. "You know.." he said, pulling back a bit. He was losing his touch, he muttered in his head. By this point he'd normally have someone at his feet, begging to do his every little whim..By god, he was getting softer by the second. "..My bed is indeed quite bit..And it gets awfully cold in here at night.." he said. A little white lie, but eh. He could control his own body tempature, via his blood control. A lie that might just help him.

Forbidden Angel 12-07-2005 11:24 PM

Ariana slowly turned to face him and nodded, "It is a comfortable bed. It would be nice to sleep in I believe." She paused for a moment before speaking up again, something she hadn't felt quite comfortable doing until now, "I can tell you're in thought. Care to share what it is Ekail?", she finally said his name. She had been avoiding it because she loved to say that name, it just rolled off her tongue with ease. She wanted to know what he was thinking, she could feel him not quite there entirely. She did not want to get suspicious of him again.

Shien 12-07-2005 11:29 PM

Ekail grinned and shook his head "Oh..Nothing..An idea.." he said, then leaned in and kissed her forehead. He suddenly lifted her up in his arms, and set her on the windowsill at eye level with him. He kissed her nose, somehow elated she had said his name. "So..Ariana. How would you like to..Hm..share my bed with me?" he said, tilting his head slightly. He was grinning brightly, staring into her eyes. His amber eyes suddenly seemed to glow, showing he was indeed quite happy. One of these days, he was going to figure out how to bottle that emotion, and then be set for life.

Forbidden Angel 12-07-2005 11:40 PM

Ariana gasped slightly as she was hoisted up onto the windowsill and she looked at him, resting her hands on her thighs. "I don't suppose it would hurt anything. I'll share your bed with you." she said, finally letting herself form a smile on her face, she looked down slightly to hide it, but it had already come to surface. Somehow, she was happy. He made her happy. Happiness wasn't even an emotion in her life any longer, until now.

Shien 12-07-2005 11:46 PM

Ekail smiled back softly, leaning in to take in her smile. "Ohoho. She does smile! Tis a miracle!" he said loudly, in a very playful way. He felt..Free. Carefree. Happy. Lots of things at once he didn't normally feel. He picked her up in his arms, and in a motion had spun around, landed on his bed on his back holding her in the air. He leaned up and began to kiss all over her face, then set her ontop of him. He grabbed her arms and set them around his neck in a soft embrace, then wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "So. Now that we've gotten sleeping arrangements out of le way..What now? Food? Nap? Dancing?" he said. He let out a soft chuckle at the last one, then tilted his head.

Forbidden Angel 12-07-2005 11:58 PM

Ariana sat up on Ekail's lap, straddling him and resting her hands on his stomach, thinking. "There are a lot of things we could do, I suppose." Suddenly, a twisted grin began to form across her lips as she looked down on him. She reached out her hand and slowly run her fingers through the hair that was strown over the bed next to him. She continued grinning, her mind racing with thoughts before she finally calmed her mind. She stopped grinning and just let a soft smile form as she watched him lying there, her hand playing with his hair. "Not sure what we should do really. I'm not used to having leasure time at all."

Ariana's leasure time involved sitting and playing with a ball of color she would form before casting a color blast. She used to entertain children when she was in her younger days and a priestess with the spell. She would throw the ball and it would hit a tree and explode into millions of colored crystals that shot out in thousands of directions and fading into nothing before they ever hit anything. She didn't do that anymore, so her leasure time was usually sitting on the rocks of a river and singing to herself the old elven lullaby she used to sing her child. It was written in the old text, in the ancient language of the elves, not the more common era language. Only three people knew the song. Two were dead, she was left. She began to hum the melody softly to herself as she toyed with Ekail's hair, not even realizing she was doing it.

Shien 12-08-2005 12:20 AM

Ekail smirked as she straddled him, lifting his hand to stroke her cheek. He grinned as she began to mess with his hair, then chuckled. "Maaaybe I'll let you redye it for me later, hm? It's gonna start dulling here soon." with a slight laugh. He lowered his hand for a bit, simply letting her do as she pleased. "Well..Food sounds good. My dinner was interuppted by a nap, then a lot of noise. I can, infact, cook. It may shock you to know such hidden information, however." he said with a laugh. "Or we can go find out what happend to my guests. I need to find that theif before she makes off with my money, of course." he said, then shook his head.

He sighed and then thought for a moment. Would letting Andy get off with his money REALLY hurt? He still had more money then he could ever spend banked with Shien, and more then that hidden in his little vault. He could replace stuff..Still. It was the simple fact of the matter..Eh..He'd let Miller deal with it on his return. For now, he was content to let Ariana toy with his hair and hum that lovely song. Deciding now would be a good time to do something other then lay there, he sat up and kissed her deeply. He broke off after a moment, and grinned. "Lovely song." he said simply.

Forbidden Angel 12-08-2005 12:28 AM

Ariana grinned at him when he pulled back from the kiss, her eyes lit up. "Food does sound good. Kind of sick of magic mushro-", she paused and got all tense in his lap. She was so relaxed with him she about spilled out the fact that she uses magic. Just saying magic mushrooms is nothing, those can be found. However, she has the inate ability to make them, but only them unfortunately. It kept her full on long journeys with no money though. Go figure. She let herself relax again and smiled at him. "Just tell me where I need to be."

Shien 12-08-2005 12:34 AM

Ekail shrugged mentally. One more thing to add to the growing number of questions he had. "The kitchen is on this floor..And away we go!" he said, picking Ariana up in his arms. Without letting her down, he danced across the floor of his room, only stumbling once mind you, and reached his door. He opened the door and stepped out, Ariana still in his arms. He shut it with his foot, then set her down and said "Wee. That was fun." he said in a not-too-excited voice. He began to walk towards the kitchen, lookign rather much like a vampire in the painfully full light. He opened the door, and gave a sweeping bow. "Laaaadies first."

Forbidden Angel 12-08-2005 12:50 AM

Ariana glanced back at her bag on the floor of his room and let a momentary thought cross her mind, then shook her head. She was hoping it was safe to assume that her belongings were safe there. She'd kill over that asordium staff, it was laced with heavy magic ontop of it's already insane durability. One hit from that staff was a pain to deal with.

She walked through the doors, letting her eyes look over the kitchen, taking in her surroundings. She stepped to the side and stood rather quietly. She wasn't just going to do as she pleased now that she was a welcome guest. If she had been in there uninvited, she would have done her worst.

"So Ekail... ", she said as she walked, trailing her finger along the back of a chair. "Care to tell me about yourself..?" She was finally wanting to find out about this man. She was ready to get down to the reason she was drawn to him, to this place. She had to know.

Shien 12-08-2005 01:51 PM

Ekail stepped in behind Ariana, closing the door behind him. He motioned to to a table in the middle of the room, with a single chair set at it. He flicked a knob on the stove, then set about finding a pot in this maze of a kitchen. He stopped, then looked over at her as she asked him to tell her about himself. In Ekail's mind, his assassin's secrecy and paranoia shot forth, screaming at him. All in vain, as he smirked and said "Sure.." he said, then resumed searching the kitchen. He finally found a decently large pot, and tossed it onto the flames. "I'm about.." he said, then stepped over to the freezer and began to shuffle through it "Two thousand and twenty six." and then shrugged. He pulled open the other side, and extracted a large jar of pasta sauce "I'm a former assassin, now I'm a messenger boy and errand runner. Pays better, but less fun." he said, then pulled out a box full of pasta shells as well.

"I'm part vampire. And by part, I mean, I have every strength and none of the icky weaknesses, such as sunlight." he said as he pretty much dumped half the jar of pasta into the pot, followed by the entire box of shells. "My only friends in this world are Miller, my butler, and my boss, who I'm going to go out on a limb and say is remarkably patient with me." he said as he whirled about. "Stirring spoon." he said simply, then walked over to a counter with rows of drawers. "I was kicked out of my family when I was..12? And thats total years, mind you." he said, pulling out a large spoon and stepping back over. "My mother and father didn't like the idea of a vampire living with them, so they sent me packing." he said with a cerain air of disgust and began to stir the shells.

"I've made my trade as a genocidal maniac, assassin, bounty hunter, experiment, personal army and now as my bosses trump card." as he stopped stirring and whirled back around. He pulled a cookie sheet out of an already open door on the cupboard, and resumed "I've been living here about..Five hundred years, give or take a month. Miller joined me about 45 ago." as he pulled open the oven on the stove and slid the sheet into it. He turned around again and walked back over to the freezer, then pulled out a bag of frozen garlic bread. "My wife was with me for....Two..no..Two hundred and fifty years, before she went mad..Don't ask me why. It's a long, complicated thing that I've never really thought about." he said as he flicked another knob for the stove, and closed the door again.

"My son went mad, and tried to kill me and such. Well, I couldn't have that, so I was forced to lock him up..I still visit him once a month, try to get him sane again..Of course, it never works." he said with a sigh. He opened the bag of garlic bread, and opened the oven door again. "I work for a man named Shien, who employs my..Special skills, for anything from negotiating with reclusive customers to destroying armies." and he began to toss the bread onto the sheet. "My favorite color is black, my lucky number is 9 and I don't remember when I was born so I just say it's December 1st and leave it at that." he said as he used his foot to close the oven door. "Aaaand..Done." he said, dusting off his hands. "Anything else?"

Enlil 12-08-2005 04:45 PM

The Messenger's angel wing twitched a little as the servant made another demand of him. His mood was rapidly darkening, and he disliked the feeling he was being made to jump through hoops. Were he a less forgiving entity, Miller would have found exactly what the newly coined phrase 'running like his skeleton on fire' meant. Still, he maintained his composure for a little longer...

"Prove I'm worthy of entry? Listen, 'my good man', I've delightfully redecorated your bridge in a colour I like to call 'Shade of Demon', I've made astounding discoveries in hyrda biology, in the field of 'the vulnerable bits', and have practically ignored the laughable skeletons. Now, if you'd like to be rid of me as rapidly as possible, I suggest you let me in post haste, lest we damage this lovely retreat. I'm tired of this little charade."

Shien 12-08-2005 04:59 PM

Miller's eyes narrowed drasticlly, making the somewhat kind looking old man seem very, very dangerous in that moment. "Listen here you impudent little.." he began, then cut himself off. His attitude and posture shifted back to the lax, kind old man. "..Hmpf. Fine, yes yes. I'm certain my master will find the time to fit your disrespectful self into his day. Come with me." he said, glaring at Hayate. He leapt off the fence and turned to it, then flicked a finger. A section of the fence fell into pieces, opening the way to the back door. "This way, this way." he said, then stepped over the shattered fence and put his hands behind his back. He stopped infront of the door and opened it, then held it open for Hayate and bowed slightly. "Here."

Forbidden Angel 12-08-2005 09:14 PM

Ariana stared at him, a bit dumbfounded by all the information that he so able to state so easily. She couldn't just open up to a stranger like that, more less someone she was close to. It gives too much to someone to hold over you in her opinion. "No.. I think that's about it.", she stated calmly as she slowly slipped into the chair at the table, pulling one leg up to rest her foot on the seat and wrap her arms around the calf, hugging the knee to her chin as she rested it upon it. She stared at the table as she thought of the things he said. She didn't want to comment on the whole son thing, and wife. She had experienced too much tragedy with her own past concerning a child and a man she never got a chance to marry.

She shook her head, realizing the difference in their ages. She was like a baby compared to him. She could live as long as him, easily. Her race can do that, but she had not reached that at all, she had a long ways to go. It was in those moments where Ariana felt most alone. Because it was then when she knew that she'd spend the next few thousand years with no one. As maniacal as she can get at times, she still had her moments when by herself that the truth would set in and torment her mind. Sometimes, it was almost too much to bear.

Shien 12-08-2005 09:44 PM

Ekail chuckled softly and walked over to the edge of the table, and sat down on it. "So..Tell me some things." he said, then lifted his hand and made a flicking wave with it. "Anything at all. Your eyes. Your powers. Your life. Your job. Your age. Your favorite food or even what time of day you normally shower. Any minor insignificant detail you care to muster from the depths of your paste and mind to share. Anything." he said, smirking and leaning back. "Why do you like blood? Magic Mushrooms? Your eyes change color, why? These questions, your age, or even where you were born are important to me, but they are also not. They mean everything but nothing, not if you do not wish to share." he said, then lifted his hand and put it to her face, stroking it all over. "So what do you wish to share?"

Valkyrie 12-08-2005 10:16 PM

Varina listened intently at the goings-on, nibbling at her lip. She could edge further forward, get a better look...but what if she was seen? She wasn't so much concerned about Miller as she was about Hayate. After all, just as she wasn't Elissa, he wasn't Aesir...but that didn't mean that emotions didn't still cut deep.

Oh come off it, Alf snapped. You want to see him. Get out there and get it over with already.

"That's just it," Varina replied. "I can't."

Why not? It's not that hard. At the very worst he'll be angry at the surprise...right?

Varina shook her head. She knew full well it might be worse than that. Toryu had given her that slightest impression long ago, hence why she had to wonder how Hayate might react to her presence...or livelihood, for that matter. She knew what had happened to him, and that he was the Messenger of Chaos. That was why she was so careful now.

"Be wise o' ye kings; be instructed ye judges o' the Earth. Serve the lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the son, lest he be angry and ye perish in his way..." she whispered under her breath.

From what she had been told, their motives were very much alike, though very different. But Varina knew that common bonds wouldn't be enough if he went mad at the sight of her. He knew she had died. He probably knew how she had died, too. If he saw her now, like this...after running off to avenge her death, and dying in the attempt...

And yet a very familiar feeling was pulling her, urging her toward him. Even though their lives were long dead, Varina could feel Elissa's ancient love for Aesir resurfacing, ever so slightly. Old habits die hard, she thought.

Varina...he will notice you sooner or later, Lofn said. I don't think he has forgotten you.

Varina took a deep breath. Sooner or later...yes, sooner or later, she'd have to face him. They'd have to see each other, and see the result of what had happened so long ago. It was just a matter of when.

Slowly, quietly, Varina began to edge forward.

Forbidden Angel 12-08-2005 10:54 PM

((Enlil, "bridge in a colour I like to call 'Shade of Demon', I've made astounding discoveries in hyrda biology", ftw.))

Ariana looked up at Ekail and sighed softly. "I suppose I can tell a few things... but there are things that I can't tell anyone. I'm sorry." She looked to the table as she spoke, "Job.. I don't have a true job. I get what I need in other ways. My age? I am but a mere child compared to you, yet I have seen many kingdoms rise and fall. If you would like to place a number, I am one hundred and forty seven, give or take a few years. I have a few thousand to go, if I make it that long.", she said with a slight laugh knowing how close she has come to death, so many times. She continued after a short pause, "As for the magic mushrooms, I detest them. Sometimes that's the only thing I can.. muster up to eat in the forests." She paused again and looked up at him finally, not really touching base with anything else he asked, unsure of what she should do, or say. She just sat there in silence, waiting to see if he would say anything first.

Shien 12-08-2005 11:18 PM

Ekail grinned to himself as she said there were things she could not tell anyone. He powers suddenly leapt to the forefront of his mind, but he held back. Best to save the best weaponry for last, he thought. He listend to her age without comment. So young, yet so perfect. How wonderful. He trailed his hand down her arm and took one of her hands, holding it gently. "I see." he said, as she finished. He closed his eyes, realizing there was much she hadn't told him..Well. Maybe just this once. No outright hypnosis, but persuasion...He smiled and nodded slightly. Some tongue loosening magic would work. "Ariana." he said suddenly, firmly. Underneath his words, was an almost untraceable magic. It was laced into the word, and every word that followed. "Doesn't having a lot of secrets make you feel..heavy?" he said. More of his vampiric persuasion melted forth into the words. "Don'tcha just wanna get it..Out?" he said, turning to her. Hopefully, she would take it as simple prodding if it didn't work. If she didn't..Well, he'd deal with that as it came.

Forbidden Angel 12-08-2005 11:38 PM

Ariana quirked an eyebrow up at him, "Not really. My life just isn't a tale you just can talk about around the ktichen table like casual conversation.", she shruged faintly. She began to fidget in her seat a bit, a bit uncomfortable for some reason. Maybe it was just the way he was looking at her, prying into her, she wasn't sure. She let her eyes wander to the stove area. "How's the pasta coming along..?", she said trying to change the subject.

Shien 12-08-2005 11:57 PM

Ekail nodded and hopped off the table, shrugging off failed attempt. He leaned over the stove and pulled the spoon off the counter and stirred it. "Not too bad." he said. He leaned down and opened the stove a bit "Bread is almost done.." he mumbled, the smell of good food beggining to whirl about the room. He turned around after shutting the oven, and stepped back over to the table. "So, tell me, Ariana. What brought you here, exactly? I never did get the story from you.." he said, suddenly leaning into her, putting his face inches away. At that distance, the smell of blood, of the food and even the sound of his voice began to swirl into a heady mix. Even his breath, which smelled plesently of aged cinnamon and tea, added to the totality. He lifted his hand to her shoulder and gripped it gently, then leaned in a little further. "Care to.." he began, then kissed her lips lightly. "..Share."

Forbidden Angel 12-09-2005 12:03 AM

She gazed up into his eyes, wanting to push him back onto the table in front of her and just show him what she would like to share, but she wasn't the type to be so rash, unless other elements are in the mix. She sighed to herself and looked down for a moment in thought before she looked up into his eyes. "I don't know.", she said firmly. "Something lured me in here, and I have yet to discover what. Well, I have suspicions, but why it lead me here, I don't know. This isn't the first time that this has happened.." She closed her eyes, lowering her head thinking back to the day she entered that arena. How cold she was to this man. Why couldn't she be the same person with such a stoic disposition? What was he doing to her?

Shien 12-09-2005 12:43 AM

"Oh? It has, has it?.." he asked silkily. He knew on some level how much he was affecting her, to an extent. He realized she acted differently now then before in the arena, and even a deaf man could hear and understand her changes in heartbeat. He felt totally in control..A feeling he both loved and hated, somehow. Regardless, he lifted his other hand and reached up to her neck, caressing it gently with his fingertips. "I see." And then it was gone. The drunkening smell of his blood, the silk in his voice..All seemed to clear like a fog. He sat back down on the table, smiling at her happily. Ah, vampirism. It's curses were many, or in his case, non-exsistant, but how it's powers were a wonderful little toy.

Forbidden Angel 12-09-2005 01:05 AM

She let her leg drop to the floor, both feet planted firmly as she pulled the jagged blade dagger from her sheath on her hip. She began to run her fingertip over the side of the blade lightly with her fingertip, letting it move along the wavey-like edge as she held it in her lap, thinking. Her concentration wavered long enough for her to slice the tip of her finger. She shook her head and shoved it back into her sheath in one quick motion, as if bothered by a thought that crossed her mind which caused her to cut herself. She let her hand drop to her lap.

Ariana then laid her head back, hanging it over the back of the chair, staring up at the cieling as her hair fell behind it, dangling. She was starting to get rather antsy as she sat there in a silence. She was in need of something. Be it rest, travel, or even something stimulating. She wasn't the type to be able to sit and let her thoughts consume her. That would be the death of her if she let it. She couldn't allow herself to sit and think like this, that is why she was growing impatient with herself, antsy.

Shien 12-09-2005 01:15 AM

Ekail stared into Ari's eyes for a moment, just smiling and staring. Ekail, it seemed, was perfectly content to stay still as a statue. He didn't even look like he was breathing for a moment. When she cut herself, he raised an eyebrow and grabbed her hand, pressing down on the slice with his thumb. He thought about questioning her, but decided against it. He lifted his hand after a moment or two and licked some of the blood off it slowly. He grinned at her in a rather insane way, and said "Lovely. Delicious. Should add it to the sauce." and then shook his head and chuckled. He lifted his hand and touched to to her forehead, then began to trace around her face. His index fingertip began trailing over her skin slowly, dancing about in a random fashion. "So. After the food is done, what do you say we go for a walk about the island and talk more? The ruins are a lovely place to get lost." he said with another insane grin.

A low hiss sound pulled Ekail's attention from his guest, and he hopped up and stepped over to the pot, then began to stir it agian. "Well, thats about done.." he said, stirring still. A reddish hand seemed to seep from under his shirt, made of blood of course, and grabbed the handle to the stove door. Ekail stepped around it a bit, and it was pulled open. Still stirring, Ekail said "Thats done." and the bloody hand reached inside and grabbed the side of the cookie tray. A sizzling sound began to echo through the room, but Ekail paid no attention. The tray was lifted and set on a back burner of the stove, and then the oven was shut off and close, all by the hand. It seemed to seep back under his shirt, and he turned to Ariana and grinned. "Better then an ovenmit. So what do you say? Walk in the ruins? Or do you want a grand tour of the Mansion?" he said.

Forbidden Angel 12-09-2005 01:28 AM

She stared at him as he licked the blood from her finger, almost happy that he wanted to taste her blood when there was probably better out there. "I don't think my blood would be really befitting to the sauce. I wouldn't want to spoil your meal."

Ariana turned her head to look at him when he had moved to the stove and got everything prepared. She hadn't really seen what he had been doing, but from what he did earlier with his hand, she could imagine. "Sounds nice.. I do like to explore. Something I used to do as a child until I got lost. Until it..", she let her words trail off. She didn't think it was appropriate to mention anything. She studied him for a moment, "Do you need any help at all..?"

Shien 12-09-2005 01:40 AM

Ekail grinned slightly and turned back to the stove "Ah yes. Exploring is quite fun. Although this place is quite small, you can wander for hours in those old buildings and never know them all." he said, speaking from experiance. Once, he and Miller had tried to map this island. It had ended with with a scribbled map, a memory of losing sight of the mansion and sleeping in an old church, and the first time he'd really talked at length with Miller since his 'hiring'. He chuckled silently, remembering that day so many years ago..But now was not the time for old memories. New ones needed creating, and he was quite ready to do so.

Upon the mention of 'help', Ekail turned back to Ari and grinned wickedly. "Oh..No. I've got enough hands for the job." he said, then suddenly, in a whirl of movement, a literal forest of bloody hands did indeed spring from his skin. A pair busied themselves getting plates from a nearby cupboard, more got silverware and another two pulled another chair to the table. Ekail himself sat at the stove, grinning madly and stirring still. The hands quickly arranged the table, set it properly and then helped Ekail carry the food over. The plates were quickly filled with bread and shells, and the leftovers set inside the oven for Miller upon his return. As soon as it was all done, the hands seemed to snap back into him with a 'thwip' sound. He himself stepped from the table over to another door and extracted a pair of fine crystal glasses, which he carried to the table and set on it.

He stepped over to the fridge, pulled it open and slid a bottle of red wine out. "A vampire cliche', perhaps. But it is quite good." he said with a smirk as he carried the bottle to the table and set it ontop of it. He used his teeth as a cork quickly, and spit the cork onto the counter with applaudable accuarcy. The whole action, from the stove to now, had taken less then a minute and even Ekail had to clap inside at his speed. He sat down and leaned back, grinning like a madman. "And thats how you set a table, Ekail style."

Forbidden Angel 12-09-2005 02:39 PM

Ariana couldn't help but laugh a little at his words when he sat down. She was quite surprised at how quickly he did everything, but still thought he was a bit vain about it all. Of course, he had every right to do so in her opinion. Not many people have the option of utilizing many hands in use, she had never seen such at least. She looked at the wine bottle and nodded slightly, red wine was her favorite. Apparently they shared another common interest. It always had a sweet taste she enjoyed, in comparason to white wine which was quite bitter to her.

She didn't seem bothered at all by the display of hands doing various tasks. She thought to herself. Any normal person would cringe and almost be frightened, but Ariana was by no means a normal person. She has seen things in her time that were much more intense than that. Hell, she had done worse to others in her past.

Ekail smiled at Ariana and said "Well, hopefully I didn't mess any of the food up..Though it's hard to mess stuff this simple up." he said with a chuckle. He grabbed the fork, and skewered a shell quite nicely. He began to eat slowly, enjoying his own work. Something struck him in that moment, like an old memory triggered by today's events. The texture, the taste of the shells and even the feel of the pasta..All reminded him of an old life. An old memory. A memory buried in sand under a foot of snow, waiting to be triggered by something. It had been a long time ago, very long..

He was a wanderer then. A mass murderer with no remorse nor care. He'd kill anything that moved in his way, and enjoy it. Finally, he'd come to a town. Small, almost deserted. Destroying it had been easy, and the hunger he'd felt after the fact had caused him to do something he'd never tried..He ate someone. He remembered the feel, the taste. It felt like he wasn't eating pasta shells, but a human being. With a shudder, he quietly swallowed the food and lifted his right hand. He put his index and middle finger together, and began to rub his temple gently. His fork was discarded onto a napkin, and he filled and then drained his wine glass.

Old memories began to well up inside him, discarded thoughts came to the front of his mind. How can anyone CARE for the monster that is me!? came a small voice, which was quietly squashed with practiced precision. Ekail's own mind seemed to be trying to keep him unhappy now, something he wasn't pleased with. He mentally told the voices to shut up, but of course they ignored him. Ah, the mind of a psychopath. He filled his glass again, made a soft whining noise and drained it, the fingers massaging his temple never stopping.

Ariana sat there in silence for a moment, looking from the corner of her eyes at Ekail, studying him. She sighed heavily, his emotions were so strong that she could feel it in her stomach tightening. She wasn't an empath, no; however, she did have a keen sense of picking up some emotions from people. And just sometimes she had no clue at all. She slowly put her fork down on the plate and pushed her chair back, standing up. She picked up her wine glass and downed the last of her wine before sitting it down on the table gently.

She quietly walked over behind Ekail and slowly reached out and placed her hands on both of his shoulders, rubbing them gently. She didn't like much interaction with others, especially physical, but being with Ekail provided her with a different feeling inside. Even if she did have her guard up, and wouldn't let him through her wall, she still let more emotion out of her around him than anyone else. She said nothing as she let her hands run over his shoulders, continuing to massage them, trying to loosen the tension.

"Ekail...", she finally said. She stopped for a moment and thought to herself, her hands pausing. She shook her head not quite sure what she was going to say. "..nevermind." She continued to rub his shoulders in silence. She started to think about a lot of things as she stared forward, at nothing at all really. Her mind just was a fog of thoughts, all blurring together. Memories and worries. Everything. She couldn't sort it, so she didn't try. She just stood there silent.

Ekail nearly jumped out of his skin, something that was actually possible with him, when Ariana touched him. Momentarily, he'd forgotten she was even in the room. "Ari.ana.." he said slowly, as if remembering her name was trouble. "Thanks.." he mumbled, enjoying the massage. He lowered his hand from his temple, pushing his wine glass away. "I get so tired of being me. Of being older then this house. Of being so maddeningly tired all the time. I can't remember a single happy moment in my life, but god forbid if the sad, unplesent and violent ones come crashing through when I'm trying to do something as simple as eating dinner..Or, perhaps I never had any happy moments to begin with. Hah." he mused almost to the thin air, once again forgetting Ariana's presense.

Actually, Ekail's mind reminded him, there wern't many 'happy' moments in his life. Sure, he'd felt pleased in certain moments..When he hired Miller and found out what a good guard he was, when Shien first hired him, and the paycheck that followed, seeing his Mansion for the first time and, most recently, Ariana's appearance in his manor. Delving deep into the insanity that clouded him, only three memories stood out as a 'happy' one. The day he married his wife, the birth of his son and just minutes ago, actually, when he'd first kissed Ariana. Aside from that, he realized, everything else was just a blur of unplesentry and insanity. With a groan, he put one hand over his eyes.

"I'm so tired of being alone, Ariana. I'm so tired of waking up every day and walking around an empty mansion, taking a walk around this deserted island, reading books I've read a million times over to pass the time and then finally going back to bed, to repeat the process of slowly aging and yet outliving everything. One day, I suspect, I'll even outlive the world itself. Imagine, me, standing alone on the empty husk that was our world and talking to myself?" he said, not even really talking to her anymore. He just wanted to speak, to talk to something with ears instead of a wall. "My life. It's a comedy. It's a tragedy." he said, then chuckled softly.

She sighed softly to herself. She knew his pain all too well. When she was younger, before she literally lost her mind and tried to destroy everyone and everything, she belonged to a town and was friends with many humans. Friends? She didn't even know the meaning of the word any longer. She had the tendency to get along better with those not of her kin. She wasn't like her kin anyways in terms of social graces. She remembered what it was like to outlive everyone. She remembers watching her friends age and die while she remained young in appearance. She shook her head as another thought graced her mind. If Logaine had still been alive, she would have very well competed with aging on his part as well seeing as though his father was human. She sighed again.

She slowly let her hands slip from Ekail's shoulders. She knew he wasn't really paying her much attention anyways, so she didn't really think he'd notice. She quietly walked over to the table and picked up the wine glass and poured some, sipping silently on it. She was beginning to hate the way she was feeling. It was the fact that she actually was feeling something that bothered her. She didn't usually give herself the chance to feel anything. She clinched her jaw, her high cheek bones flexing with the movements of her teeth. "Damned.. by the gods..", she said almost inaudiablely to no one, and everyone at once.
