Either use the Cane of Somaria to create a block if you already have it, or just push a block from the room above the one you're talking about. it will fall down, and onto the switch if you push the right block. I believe it's the lower-left block if I remember right.

The above room is the harder of the two. The cane is in the dungeon in Misery Mire, the big swamp. You can get to it by using the flute and goign to warp area 6, then stepping on the warp tile there. Make sure you have Ether magic, which you can find on Death Mountain in the light world, or you can't enter the dungeon.

I always do that. Since the first time I played LTTP. First dungeon 6, then 5

Another good trick to beating LttP quicker and easier is to go to Gargoyles Domain in the Outcast Village. Get the Glove and beat Blind (cuz he's a big wiener). Then you can get the forged sword and beat half the game in half the time you really need. I've always done that. It's fun seeing how much stuff you can get and do before you're "supposed" to be able to get it. Happy happy, joy joy!!!!!!

Its a good idea to skip around, but don't try to do it too much in OoT. There is a "bug" in the game where if you beat certain temples out of order the Shadow will never escape from Kakariko Village. That can be a bad thing...
