This figure ilustrates an infinite sequence of inscribed equilateral
triangles Tk. The outermost triangle T1 has sides of length
l1 = 1. The second equilateral triangle T2 is generated
from T1 by joining the midpoints of the sides of T1; thus
the length of each side of T2 is l2 = 1/2. In general,
the kth triangle Tk is generated from Tk-1 by joining
the midpoints of the sides of Tk-1. Hence the length of each side of the kth
triangle is lk-1/2. Let ak denote the area of Tk.
