PART I Pseudonym: Hayate Race: 'Messenger' Age: Uncertain; belived to be around 3200 He appears in his early 20's Height: 5'6 Weight: Less than 100lbs. Hair Color/Style: His hair is black, and rather messy. It's fairly short, with bits sticking up everywhere Eye Color: Light Grey Build: Very pale, not overly tall, rather slim. Doesn't exactly look at the peak of health. PART II Strengths & Abilities: Magic is his strongest suit, based on Chaotic Dark magic. His typical attacking spell is a simple orb of darkness, surrounded by characteristic purple-white lightning. The orb can be manipulated into various geometric shapes, usually either a rectangular wall for defence, or a thin cylinder for melée combat. He's also been observed firing bolts of the purple-white lightning which clearly lack the versatility of his simple orb. Also in his strong points is sheer speed. Capable of moving like the wind, it's a good way of avoiding damage. His most potent ability is that of unleashing his full power. While he generally hates the idea of doing so, some occasions do call for it. Doing so allows him to tap into the chaotic firmament of reality, granting him rather excessive power. Weaknesses: At 5'6 and 100 pounds, Hayate's hardly the epitome of physical perfection. He's been smacked clean across the room by a blow from a great axe on one occasion and would generally have difficulty in holding his own in a straight fist fight. Psychologically, he's rather unwilling to fight to the death. He's got too many deaths on his consience, so mercy is something he's subscribing to, usually a bad idea with most foes. While he's physically weak, his actual body has been observed to be rather resilient, but regeneration seems beyond his powers. While 'Unbound' he sufferes from being whimsical and fairly obsessive, finding a foe that looks fun and starting a battle of attrition. This, naturally, brings it's own attendant problems, as he's very easy to draw away from an important battle, plus he gains a weakness to Holy or Divine spells. Finally, as a magical entity, spells from the 'Dispel' range are not high on his list of favourites. PART III Biography:The man once known as Aesir Vanas has had a troubled past. He was born in an alternate plane, possibly several millenia ago. The town he lived in was caught in between two warring factions, and rarely went long without being occupied by one or the other. The young Vanas therefore became fairly skilled with the sword, but not overly. He was just a farmer at heart. When he was 20, one of the kingdoms decided to end the stalemate in the most logical way possible. Hundreds of men poured into the town, setting it ablaze and killing all in their path. He awoke in a shattered, blazing town, a massive, near fatal cut across his chest. When he judged himself capable of movement, he grabbed the old sword his father kept and struck out. He passed the burning bodies of everyone he'd ever known, friends, family, his girlfriend, wanting only to avenge them. He met his best friend a day out from the town, who tried to convince him that his vengeance was suicide. Unwilling to hear any thing against his anger, he slew the unfortunate man, and headed straight for the stronghold. Naturally, his attempt to slay those responsible ended bloodily, as he was hacked down by the guards. In his own words, he killed 'one or two of them', but not enough to sate his rage. That world however, like all the others, had many gods. One, the god of Chaos, took considerable interest in the angry spirit that had recently departed the physical realm. He offered Aesir the chance of a new life, of vengeance, provided he served as the god's Messenger. He was restored to life in a copy of his original body, clad in black armour and weilding the cursed Gale Murasame blade. Thanks to the god's deal though, he had virtually no memory of who he was. All over the world, people started to fear the Messenger of Chaos, naming him Hayate. Thousands of years passed and slowly, ever so slowly, the mind of Aesir Vanas rebuilt itself. He partially broke free of the god's control, just enough to let him set a scheme in motion to eventually let him escape of his servitude and find peace. As the Messenger, he had killed thousands, destroyed towns and cities and been cursed to live on battlefields for all eternity. As Aesir regained minor control, he saw what had been done by him, and altered his scheme. He would find a way to destroy the god of Chaos and let all he had killed find rest. He sealed most of the power of the Messenger away, letting him breath easily for a time, then set to work. The first stage of his plan opened up a hole between planes, sending him beyond in influence of his former master, but into far more disturbing world. The curse on his blade compelled him never to cease fighting, the world he entered dictated by the blade itself. In the darkness, he fought across un-named lands, fighting to try and complete his goal. Then, he arrived at a world where a member of an ancient race attempted to begin an event named 'Megiddo', jump-starting the Apocalypse. Once more on a battle field, Hayate found himself uncertain who to align himself with. While the forces fighting against this 'Gale' certainly seemed to be the ones who he should ally with, he coud not help but sympathise with the Abbis. As he travelled with the group, he found himself opening up to one of the members, Riki (Wolf), and finally found himself a true reason to live. In the final battle of Megiddo, Hayate was forced to unleash the power of the Messenger once more, finding a worthy opponent in the archdemon Legion(Gale). After Megiddo, Hayate disappeared, leaving his sword to Riki as a promise he'd return. He walks the world now, alone save the haunting memories of three millenia of bloodshed.
