Blue Tunic: This tunic doubles Link's defense powers. You can find it in the Ice Palace.
Book of Mudora: This is the only piece of evidence left that is able to take the old Hylian word and translate it. Use it to read ancient pedestals, perform prayers, and gain knowledge!
Boomerang: When you throw this item, it will return to Link. It can freeze enemies and destroy weaker ones. There is an upgrade available at the Waterfall of Wishing, near the entrance of Zora Falls: the Magic Boomerang.
Bombos Medallion: When Link finds this medallion, he will be able to perform a very powerful spell that will burn every enemy that is on screen!
Bombs: These items will break away any secret passage that you want access to!
Bottle: There are a total of four of these in the entire game. Use them to store potions, fairies, or bees.
Bow & Arrow: Shoot arrows with this item. You can also get an upgrade towards the end of the game: the Silver Bow & Arrow.
Bug Catching Net: This item is given to you by a sick child that has caught a cold from the odd wind coming off of Death Mountain. You can catch Fairies and Bees with this net, and if you have a bottle, you can release them for future use! Strangely enough, this is the only alternative to the Master Sword that will deflect Agahnim's attacks.
Ether Medallion: Calling upon the powers that be in the high skies, Link will be able to freeze every enemy within decent range when he uses this item!
Fire Rod: This item will use some of your magic energy, but I say it's worth it! When you swing this rod through the air, a blast of super-heated fire will exit its tip, burning anything in its path... especially enemies!
Flute: The tale of a lost boy's soul lives within this flute. Use it to get some quick transportation across the huge overworld.
Golden Sword: The final upgrade to the Master Sword, if you drop this in the Great Fairy's fountain (located in the Pyramid of Power), then she will grant you a better sword- The Golden Sword.
Green Tunic: This is the tunic in which Link wears at the beginning of the game.
Hammer: Sometimes, you can only get past certain obstacles by pounding them into the ground, such as posts. That is where the Hammer will come in handy!
Hookshot: Probably the one item every Zelda fan wished they'd have, this item allows Link to pull himself across ledges, holes, and even attack enemies! How nifty.
Ice Rod: This item really isn't used too often during the game, but the times when you need it most, it becomes very important and almost seems like you never have enough magic energy. This item is the exact opposite of the Fire Rod. It will shoot a very cold ice wave out of its tip.
Lamp: This item will allow you to light unlit torches and will give you a source of light in rooms full of darkness!
Magic Cape: Link will turn invisible and enemies will not be able to see him. Also, when Link is using this item, he will be able to walk across floors made completely of spikes!
Magic Mirror: The most important item in the entire game will allow Link to teleport from the Dark World, back into the Light World. Also, when he is lost in a dungeon, he can call upon this item to return to that dungeon's entrance!
Magic Powder: After you give the witch the mushroom, she will hand you back some magic powder after you wait a while. Hey, you have to have some patience!
Master Sword: The legendary blade that repels evil! Once you pull this sword from the pedestal in The Lost Woods, you will be able to shoot energy beams as long as you have full energy!
Mirror Shield: This shield will deflect almost every form of magical attacks from an enemy.
Moon Pearl: One of the most important items in the game is the Moon Pearl- Link is always holding this so that he isn't affected by the powers of the Dark World! If he doesn't have this, he will stay a bunny for as long as he is in the Dark World, unable to use any of his items...
Mushroom: The witch needs this ingredient in order to stir you up some nice magic powder! You can find it in The Lost Woods!
Pegasus Boots: With these ancient shoes, Link will be able to run like the wind!
Power Gloves: These gloves will allow Link to pick up white rocks and boulders.
Quake Medallion: The ground will shake, new paths will open, and enemies will be in a state of shock when this spell is performed!
Red Shield: This is a stronger shield that will repel more attacks than the White Shield can... specifically fireballs!
Red Tunic: This tunic QUADRUPLES Link's defense!
Shovel: You can dig into the ground and find some very helpful items that will help you along your quest with this here item.
Staff of Byrna: A magic barrier will appear around Link for a short period of time when he uses this staff.
Staff of Somaria: Blocks will suddenly appear out of thin air when you swing this staff.
Tempered Sword: If you save one of the sword smiths in the Village of Outcasts in the Dark World (he has been turned into a frog... you can save him after you obtain the Hammer) then return him to the Light World, where you will be able to get a very good deal for saving him- a sword upgrade! The Tempered Sword is just a stronger form of Master Sword. It has no more special abilities applied to it.
Titan's Mit: This is an upgrade to the Power Glove. It will allow Link to pick up both white and gray stones.
Uncle's Sword: This is the first sword you get in the game. Your Uncle hands it to you, just before he passes on...
White Shield: This shield is given to Link by his uncle.
Zora's Flippers: Buy a pair of these flippers if you are interested in swimming! Actually, they are required to buy if you want to enter the swamp palace!
